Jordan Hill scored a career-high 28 points, Nick Young added 26 off the bench and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic, 103-94, on Sunday night, sending them to their ninth straight loss.
The win by the Lakers snaps their four-game losing streak.
Hill was sensational in this one, going 9-of-15 from the floor and 10-of-13 from the free-throw line. He hit several big foul shots late to ice the contest and also grabbed 13 rebounds.
Hill's performance was especially important because Pau Gasol left the game at halftime due to illness.
Victor Oladipo led the Magic with 21 points and 10 assists.
Los Angeles shot 46.3 percent from the floor and forced Orlando in 18 turnovers.
LA led by as much as 15 in the second quarter, but the Magic battled back and trimmed the deficit to seven heading into the half. Orlando got within two over the final 24 minutes, but it never tied the score.
There were only two lead changes in this game, with the Magic holding a brief 30-29 lead at the beginning of the second period.
Young shot 8-of-17 from the floor and hit a huge 29-foot three-pointer as the shot clock expired with 3:26 to play.
