South Africa's Hashim Amla was the victim of an extraordinary freak dismissal at the hands of New Zealand and Corey Anderson at the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.
Amla had scored 41 from 40 balls when he departed—via JP Duminy's bat.
As you can see in the gif, Amla drilled Anderson back down the ground. The only thing that prevented the shot picking up four runs was that Duminy could not move out of the way in time.
As the ball bounced off his blade, it was still in play—and that meant Anderson, who was alert to the play throughout, had a simple catch to take the wicket.
