Seventeen-year-old recording artist Lorde was in Kansas City for a concert on Friday. While she was there, she got a pretty awesome gift from the man who inspired her Grammy Award-winning song "Royals."

Since he was unable to attend the concert, Hall of Fame third baseman George Brett sent Lorde an autographed jersey. Inside his No. 5, along with his signature, Brett wrote, "Lorde, you are Royal to me."

In an interview with VH1, Lorde admitted that she was inspired to make the song after seeing a picture of a man wearing a Royals jersey while signing baseballs. That man happened to be Brett.

Considering he was the inspiration for such a popular song, it was pretty nice of Brett to send Lorde this gift.
