The 100 Most Attractive People in Sports

Not every sport is as unrelenting and physically demanding as an athletic event like swimming or hockey, but on average, collegiate and pro athletes have to have a fairly high level of natural talent as well as a commitment to be prepared for the competition.

Grueling gym routines, intense physical rehabilitation after an injury and specially planned diets are simply a greater part of an average athlete's life than these things are for everyone else.

So, those men and women talented and focused enough to participate in sports and athletics at an elite level live and work in an environment that's more than capable of reversing the aftermath of a Christmas turducken (you know, the one that ruled your life and diet for about a week.)

Much of the same holds true for the people working around them—you and I have the YMCA, while coaches and general managers have access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise. This means that when it comes to finding men and women in sports who are really attractive, there's no shortage of candidates.

These are 100 of the most attractive people in sports.

Jenny Dell, NESN

1 of 93

    Jim Rogash/Getty Images North America

Recently removed from her role as in-game reporter during Red Sox telecasts, NESN sports journalist Jenny Dell didn't fall out of favor because she was hard to look at; the general consensus is that she lost her position due to her romantic relationship with club third basemen Will Middlebrooks.

If I were Middlebrooks, I'd buy her something nice after such an incident, because she's a savvy, up-and-coming sports reporter with a rockin' body and bright future with or without him.

Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux

2 of 93

    Harry How/Getty Images

Twins are something that are much bigger than one girl's humble opinion. If they're blonde and they play a sport as awesome as hockey, they transcend space and time.

Allow me to introduce you to Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux, who play for the uberexciting U.S. women's hockey team.

History has already rendered its verdict:

Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins

3 of 93

    Bruce Bennett/Getty Images North America

No guy wants to hear that he’s adorable and super attractive in a totally non-threatening way, which is exactly what Penguins star Sidney Crosby is.

Not that anyone wants to hear they’re attractive in an actively threatening way, either. But emphasizing adorable and non-threatening rarely plays well for the guy.

Nastia Liukin, Retired Gymnast

4 of 93

    Joe Scarnici/Getty Images

Olympic gymnasts compete in a sport that render years of intense training worthless in the blink of an eye; the window often slams shut before an Olympic hopeful graduates high school, and for the best of the best, an injury or an off day can end the dream in crushing fashion.

Retired Russian-American gymnast Nastia Liukin is one of those rare greats who never seemed phased by the intense pressure to win; she not only won gold in the women's individual all-around at the 2008 Summer Games, but she did so with grace and beauty.

Candi Whitaker, Texas Tech Lady Raiders Basketball Coach

5 of 93

    AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez

Though she anxiously paces in front of her bench on the same courts as coaches like West Virginia's Bobby Huggins and other assorted, frustrated middle-aged men, Texas Tech Lady Raiders head coach Candi Whitaker's beauty isn't a product of strange comparisons.

She is just a hot, take-charge woman trying to build a winner.

Gus Kenworthy

6 of 93

    Christopher Lane

Olympian Gus Kenworthy won over nearly every woman in America—plus some of the men and most of the children—when he announced his intention to adopt a litter of stray puppies via Twitter from the Sochi Games.

He recently reunited with the puppies on the set of NBC’s Today, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen.

Nicole Zaloumis, NFL Network

7 of 93

    Credit: @nicolezaloumis on Twitter

Someone like the NFL Network's Nicole Zaloumis needs to divide whatever makes her tick into a million individually wrapped servings of awesome...and give them...mostly to me.

The very idea that someone can just be pretty...and clever...and a lovely human being—amid a high-demand career that forces her to also juggle the responsibilities of a family—is like the idea of going over Niagara Falls in a barrel and walking away from it.

    At least to me.

Maria Sharapova, Tennis

8 of 93

    Angela Weiss/Getty Images North America

Not long into her pro career, it became clear that tennis star and model Maria Sharapova was not going to be just another version of Anna Kournikova.

Whereas Kournikova's beauty and brand quickly rendered her so-so career obsolete, Sharapova brought all the beauty (and then some) and brand power but showed she is a talented, solid pro.

Jeannelle Scheper, University of South Carolina

9 of 93

    AP Photo/Beth Hall

Jeannelle Scheper is the 2014 team captain of South Carolina's track and field squad and a high jumping beast.

    Look at her.

It's Jeannelle's world and we're all living in it.

Fernando Llorente, Juventus F.C.

10 of 93

    Maurizio Lagana/Getty Images Europe

Spanish footballer Fernando Llorente plays striker for the Serie A team Juventus F.C. and has been a member of Spain’s national team since 2003. I don’t follow Serie A that closely, but under the right circumstances, I’d probably follow Llorente off a bridge if he jumped.

There’s something captivating about him that led me to click through his photos for much longer than required, considering I chose one of the very first. Llorente has the looks, the talent and the personality—like if Ferris Bueller, Cameron Frye and Jake Ryan all melded together.

Sorry if that analogy doesn’t translate well. I can’t help that I’m old.

Carmelita Jeter, U.S. Women’s Track and Field

11 of 93

    Christian Petersen/Getty Images North America

American sprinter Carmelita Jeter is the perfect example of the difference between strong, ripped women who are natural athletes and strong, ripped, percolating female muscle models who look like an apocalyptic coupling between Big Ang and Dolph Lundgren.

Jeter has the kind of arms most guys would be proud to call their own, but like the rest of her, sexy is never sacrificed for strength.

Ashley Alana, Washington Redskins Cheerleader

12 of 93

    Nick Wass

Tan, blonde and curvy in all the right places may be unoriginal, but there's a good reason such a tried and true formula lives on—because it works. On the right people, the sum total always equals "sexy."

When it's brought altogether to give us a hot NFL cheerleader like the Redskins' Ashley Alana, it's magic.

Jim Harbaugh, San Francisco 49ers

13 of 93

    Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images North America

Coach Harbaugh drives a lot of people crazy and even has some people questioning his sanity at times. But there's no denying that he is one of the more handsome coaches roaming the sidelines.

    I didn't say stylish. I said handsome.

Lindsey Vonn, Alpine Skiing

14 of 93

    Armando Trovati

U.S. alpine skier Lindsey Vonn kind of established the modern template for the hot, frequently blonde bombshell who also happens to be an Olympic-caliber skier.

And as is the natural course for these matters of nature, she went on to start a romantic relationship with PGA star Tiger Woods.

Katie Nolan, Fox Sports 1

15 of 93

If you want to get down to brass tacks, Fox Sports 1's Katie Nolan is just a gorgeous gal who loves and knows sports.

Dig a little deeper, and you learn that she's got the kind of badass moxie that led to the total (awesome) destruction of ESPN's Rick Reilly after he said some pretty terrible things.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

16 of 93

    Gonzalo Arroyo Moreno/Getty Images Europe

If there was anyone on this entire list I felt irrational pre-peer pressure to include, it has to be Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. I realize I’m not making a list in my high school diary, so people expect me to at least attempt to represent an opinion broader than my own.

In terms of my own opinion, no one on this list strays further outside my own personal boundaries of attractiveness than Ronaldo. He’s overly tanned, overly trimmed, overly plucked and just overly manicured—not just as a man but as a human being—in general.

That being said, Ronaldo is obviously a physically fit and talented athlete who makes enough money at his job to allow him to devote an inordinate amount of time to grooming. I know for a fact that some people find this appealing…so enjoy.

Sarah Hendrickson, American Ski Jumper

17 of 93

    Mike Hewitt/Getty Images Europe

Sometimes the way people perceive your beauty is as much about the vibe you exude as it is all that action going from the shoulders up. And U.S. women's ski jumper Sarah Hendrickson is someone who could turn a toad into a prince through sheer willpower alone.

The scary part? Even if she was more Lana Del Ray than Miley Cyrus, that adorable face would find a way to win you over.

Nicole Briscoe, ESPN

18 of 93

    Robert Laberge/Getty Images

Men...scratch that, men and women always seem drawn to ladies who buck stereotypes or decide to break the mold and bring a woman's perspective to a place that is needlessly devoid one.

ESPN's Nicole Briscoe is a hottie and NASCAR fanatic who has worked as a reporter and anchor for the network's NASCAR coverage.

Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers

19 of 93

    Ronald Martinez/Getty Images North America

Young Kyrie Irving is the best thing to happen to the city of Cleveland in a good while. The city by the lake doesn’t get a lot of wins these days, but since he came along in 2011, it’s starting to look like there just might be life after LeBron.

And it looks even better because young Mr. Irving is, in addition to being relatively good at basketball, pretty easy on the eyes as well. A handsome man who’s also good at basketball? Give it another year before this guy is named king of Ohio.

Jessica Smith, American Speed Skater

20 of 93

    Harry How/Getty Images North America

Jessica Smith is a name that probably appears in 99 percent of all high school yearbooks published each year—it’s a name that says, “I’m an all-American girl who is just as likely to beat you at beer pong as I am to kick your ass."

U.S. speed skater Jessica Smith may not be the prototypical stunner made practically blase by Russia, but she’s adorable, fun and has a hot body—and those attributes are sneaky powerful.

Natalie Achonwa, Notre Dame

21 of 93

    AP Photo/Rick Osentosk

Notre Dame women’s basketball star Natalie Achonwa is a limo girl. "And what exactly is a limo girl?" you’re probably asking yourself. Well, let me explain.

One motif that dominates movies about a girl who isn’t necessarily fixated on being that princess in makeup is that at some point, she emerges from a limo—in slow motion—blinged out, done up and in a hot dress. The camera pans over to the lame popular kids that overlooked her and they all do double-takes.

Achonwa is a baller, but she knows she’s hot and can prove it to you.

Adam Henrique, New Jersey Devils

22 of 93

    Andre Ringuette/Getty Images North America

Let’s get real. Devils center Adam Henrique looks kind of like a frat bro, which is usually everything I (and smart women everywhere) try to avoid in a man.

That being said, he ain’t ugly. I’m not saying I would ever reconsider my stance on dating frat bros (I’m way too old for that), but a few drinks would definitely weaken my resolve in this case.

Charissa Thompson, Fox Sports 1

23 of 93

    AP Photo/Eric Jamison

Charissa Thompson is part of the new wave of female sports journalists who are not just prepared for the 24/7 hyper-sensationalized media environment but thrive in it.

Obviously, the camera "loves a pretty face," and she's got that in spades, but Thompson has revealed herself to be a versatile talent who is just as comfortable sparring with prickly Colin Cowherd as she is in the role of one of the leading personalities on a young, evolving cable sports network.

Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue, Canadian Figure Skaters

24 of 93

    Matthew Stockman/Getty Images

Canadian figure skaters Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue may have come up just short of the gold in Sochi, but winning the silver in the ice dance event is nothing to be ashamed of.

In fact, these two could have barrelled into the judges, arms and legs flailing, and in my mind, they’d be the true champions.

Just. Look. At. Them. It’s like the idea behind the adorable flick Enchanted was based on reality and these two walked out of the enchanted forest and into the Winter Olympics.

Say their names aloud. Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue...are you kidding me?

Alessandro Matri, Juventus FC

25 of 93

    Enrico Locci/Getty Images Europe

Footballer Alessandro Matri is from central casting. If one were to request an attractive Italian man, they’d send send you this guy.

Dark hair, olive skin and a look that says, "Maybe I know what’s going on." But then again, "Maybe I don’t." The kind of intrigue that’s launched 10,000 backpacking-across-Europe trips.

Alana Blanchard, Surfer

26 of 93

If you're a girl who can spend an inordinate amount of time in a bikini and look amazing doing it, you already live in a universe most women neither know nor are willing to get to know. However, it's a mythic wonderland many, many men want to visit one day—but as a guest, not an intruder.

Pro surfer Alana Blanchard is otherworldly hot—and exists in that state effortlessly, it seems.

Natasha Hastings, U.S. Women's Track and Field

27 of 93

    Justin Edmonds/Getty Images North America

U.S. women’s track star and 2008 Beijing Summer Games gold medal winner Natasha Hastings was a dominant athlete on the collegiate level as one of the most talented members of South Carolina’s track and field team, winning two national titles as a junior.

Pairing stunning natural beauty with the gift of speed, and that signature lipstick, she's the sexiest blur to ever blow past you on a track.

Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole, Fox Sports 1

28 of 93

Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole from Fox Sports 1 are both pretty good-looking guys, but neither of them would’ve made the cut if they weren’t two of the funniest people in the history of sports media.

The network has really ironed out some of the wrinkles that plagued it early on, but Jay and Dan have crushed it from day one. Easy on the eyes…love sports…funny as hell. Perfection personified.

Elena Delle Donne, Chicago Sky

29 of 93

    AP Photo

The Chicago Sky's Elena Delle Donne isn't afraid to be a tall, powerful and sexy woman. And after a quick tour of some of her moments captured on camera and shared via Twitter, the girl is a 6'5" hottie.

Amber and Angela Cope

30 of 93

    Rusty Jarrett/Getty Images

After a somewhat rough start to her pioneering career as the only female racing pro on the NASCAR circuit, Danica Patrick won the respect of most her peers are proved herself to be a driver who deserved to compete with the best.

Then in 2010, the much blonder and younger Amber and Angela Cope made their debuts on the NASCAR national touring series, and by 2012, they thoroughly cheesed off driver Kevin Harvick before dedicating more time to modeling.

Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma City Thunder

31 of 93

    Brett Deering/Getty Images North America

Considering Congo native Serge Ibaka was the third youngest of his parents' 18 children, him being a very attractive and successful professional basketball player is all the more impressive. I feel like I’d be so tired by the time I got to the 15th kid, I’d probably just kick it into autopilot and coast.

Maybe get a St. Bernard to handle the heavy lifting. That’s what the absentee parents did in Peter Pan, and those kids turned out just swell. Sorry, this has gotten a little off track. So to summarize, Serge Ibaka is handsome, and it’s definitely a good thing I don’t have kids.

Roberta Mancino, Extreme Sports

32 of 93

Italian demigoddess Roberta Mancino is like one of those logic problems that asks you to find what "doesn't belong." Except in her case, everything belongs and is somehow made sexy.

She's a stunning model who also happens to be a prolific skydiver, BASE jumper and wingsuit daredevil. Essentially she is the "World's Most Intriguing Woman."

Brittney Palmer, UFC Octagon Girl

33 of 93

    Ethan Miller/Getty Images North America

Brittney Palmer’s place on this list needs no explanation—she’s a UFC Octagon Girl. And a girl doesn’t get that job because she knows the quadratic equation.

Though I’m not suggesting she doesn’t know it. Maybe she does know it but just doesn’t get to use it professionally as often as she’d like. I certainly don’t know it.

Kelly Slater, Surfer

34 of 93

    Jesse Grant/Getty Images North America

Sexy surfer Kelly Slater has been making girls like me googly eyed for going on 25 years now. That kind of stability in this department is equal parts comforting and disconcerting.

It’s comforting in that you know Slater is always going to be there, looking impossibly put together and distracting you with those big blue eyes. Like the shortcomings of NFL football in the state of Ohio, you can always count on him.

It’s disconcerting in that we’re going on three generations of Kelly Slater swooning, but he hasn’t aged a day. He was in his early 30s when I first noticed him as a teenager, and I’m pretty sure I passed him in age last year.

Lindsay Czarniak, ESPN

35 of 93

    Larry Busacca/Getty Images North America

ESPN on-air reporter Lindsay Czarniak is a striking beauty, no doubt, but if that fact ever precludes the very real talent and proven ability she's shown—from the local sports beat to her latest, high-profile gig with the biggest name in the business—then it'll send a clear signal to women that you can't win.

With her experience and natural on-air charisma, she should simply be a damn good journalist who also happens to be hot as hell.

Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse, Canadian Bobsledders

36 of 93

    George Frey/Getty Images North America

Sometimes the way you live or what you choose to do with yourself becomes inextricably linked with your identity. It's the reason kind of gross dudes with motorcycles never seem to have trouble getting a date and why Jordan Catalano maintains near mythic status with an entire generation of women.

So, when a couple cool, fun chicks who just happen to be cute and have access to a damn bobsled are presented before you...they're hot.

Cullen Jones, American Olympic Swimmer

37 of 93

    Ian MacNicol/Getty Images Europe

Perhaps this is just a matter of personal taste, but when it comes to American Olympic swimmers, I’m going to have to pass on the likes of Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.

Cullen Jones, on the other hand, is definitely worth a second look. What he lacks in gold medals he more than makes up for in other areas. Most notably? Not making a public mockery of himself.

Jeanie Buss, Los Angeles Lakers Executive

38 of 93

    Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images North America

Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss is what any self-respecting "cougar" should aspire to be—she’s a hot 52-year-old with little indication that’s going to change any time soon.

And instead of foolishly leveraging her unabated beauty and status to land a younger guy who will inevitably turn into “Scumbag Steve,” she landed Phil Jackson.

Tobin Heath, U.S. Women's Soccer

39 of 93

    Joe Scarnici/Getty Images Europe

U.S. women’s soccer midfielder Tobin Heath made a name for herself when she helped her team win the gold at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

She also happens to be one of those girls whose athleticism seems to be in harmony with the kind of natural beauty that made girls like her magnetic in high school.

And you can’t go wrong with that smile.

Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers

40 of 93

    Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images North America

One of the ridiculous things I remember being said about Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, prior to him being drafted, had something to do with what some terrible person labeled a “fake smile.”

Sorry, but there’s nothing fake about Newton. From the Auburn team he carried on his shoulders during their championship season to the continued success he’s enjoyed in the NFL—it’s all very real.

Trying to paint Newton as something other than he appears is a waste of time and energy. He’s fantastic, and his talent is as real as his smile.

Gracie Gold, American Figure Skater

41 of 93

    Matthew Stockman/Getty Images Europe

U.S. figure skater Gracie Gold conveys a kind of old-school, exquisite glamor that conjures up memories of Audrey Hepburn or a young Mia Farrow.

She's a true regal beauty—and the fact that she seems to pull it off so effortlessly (along with the ups and downs of olympic competition) bodes well for the future of U.S. figure skating.

Kim Glass, U.S. Women's Volleyball

42 of 93

    Mark Davis/Getty Images North America

Even by the standards of a sport that's defined by two-piece uniforms and leggy female athletes lunging to make a save, volleyball player Kim Glass is quite the specimen.

Not surprisingly, the girl is a model, too. Not many people in this world have the opportunity to pursue two careers that share the same interest in minimizing the amount of fabric adorning your insane body.

Jeff Carter, Los Angeles Kings

43 of 93

    Jeff Gross/Getty Images North America

Playing hockey in Los Angeles has to be bittersweet. On one hand, Canadian cutie Jeff Carter is living his dream, making a good living playing a game he’d gladly play for free if he didn’t make it professionally.

On the other hand, when you win a championship, nobody cares. Well, maybe not nobodyabout 150,000 fans showed up for the Kings Stanley Cup parade in 2012. The Lakers average 500,000 to two million when they win.

Lucky for Carter, he’s good looking enough to cover the gap. An ugly hockey player might actually have trouble picking up girls in L.A., but this guy has never been the ugly guy anywhere. Not even in L.A.

Fox Sports Florida Girls

44 of 93

You can't help but appreciate the purity of the Fox Sports Girls franchise—a spectacle best illustrated by the Fox Sports Florida Girls.

Featuring hosts Jordana (sic) and Annilie (sic), two pretty damn hot girls who seem to legitimately love sports, they interview players and staff from the local teams, giggle, dance, bounce and jiggle through various segments aired on the regional Fox Sports affiliate.

Ana Ivanovic , Serbian Tennis Player

45 of 93

    Clive Brunskill/Getty Images Europe

Tennis is a sport that does more than its best to not stand in the way of a woman’s sex appeal; it enhances it. Skimpy outfits that tend to flutter around the butt region? Check. Just enough sweat to look like a scene in a beer commercial? Check. Um...grunting? Check...I guess.

The irony is that women’s tennis player Ana Ivanovic doesn’t need any damn help. She looks like she was created when a couple of nerds hooked a car battery and a bra up to a Commodore 64 during a thunderstorm.

Xavier Henry, Los Angeles Lakers

46 of 93

    Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America

If we’re being completely honest, the current putrid state of the Lakers was almost enough to keep Xavier Henry, their young guard out of Kansas, off this list. Kobe or no Kobe, there’s something fundamentally unsettling about seeing the Lakers in the basement, looking up at the Clippers in the penthouse with more than double the wins.

The situation forced me to do some overdramatic soul searching—particularly overdramatic in that I’m not even a Lakers fan. In the end, though, Henry’s hypnotic green eyes and inviting smile triumphed. A victory he should savor and share with his teammates because, this year, wins are few and far between.

Anna Sidorova and Alexandra Saitova, Russian Curlers

47 of 93

    Ryan Pierse/Getty Images Euro

On paper, the sport of curling suggests that even at the highest level of competition, the typical “athlete” would have more in common with pro bowler Pete Weber than blonde tennis goddess Maria Sharapova.

Well, if you weren’t already aware, Russia blew up any preconceived notion about curling’s place in the pantheon of sexy Olympic events when it rolled out a team of hotties led by the hottest of the hot, curlers Anna Sidorova and Alexandra Saitova.

I would wave the white flag of surrender on behalf of the rest of the world, but these Russian chicks would probably just start using it as a centerpiece for a sexy dance.

Michelle Beadle, ESPN

48 of 93

    Bryan Bedder/Getty Images North America

ESPN's Michelle Beadle has always struck me as a woman whose charm and sex appeal is rooted in the same place that forged people like Eva Gardner. She's hard-scrabble hot—fiercely independent, has a sometimes dark sense of humor and finds herself at times together and at others, not so much.

People like her make guys fall hard, make friends easily and lose them just as quickly and make impulsive but not totally incomprehensible career decisions.

Whoa. She's kind of like Holden Caulfield.

Kasey Kahne, NASCAR

49 of 93

    Nick Laham/Getty Images North America

Considering how ridiculously adorable Hendrick Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne is, I continue to be surprised at how under the radar he seems to be. Granted, as the most casual of NASCAR fans, perhaps I’m not entirely qualified to assess his overall visibility in the sport.

I am, however, plenty qualified to assess his assets, so to speak. Boyish good looks? Check. Pleasing smile? Check. The piercing blue eyes of a Siberian Husky? Check, check! Let’s just say that when it comes to Kasey Kahne, I’m picking up what he’s putting down.

Sanya Richards-Ross, U.S. Women's Track and Field

50 of 93

    Justin Edmonds/Getty Images North America

I've said it once and I'll say it again: Man or woman, track and field athletes have some of the most smokin' bodies in sports.

Sanya Richards-Ross stands out from a bumper crop of U.S. women's track and field athletes that all nicely bring together hard bodies, good looks and a clear commitment to success.

What sets her apart? Whether by virtue of just being in sync with the world around her or knowing how to look great in front of a camera...she works it.

Yoann Gourcuff, Olympique Lyonnais

51 of 93

    Alex Livesey/Getty Images Europe

French footballer Yoann Gourcuff is a midfielder who currently plays for Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1. He’s also been a member of France’s national team for over a decade.

Being born American, I think there’s something deep inside designed to intrinsically detest the French, but as a woman, I think there’s something even deeper inside designed to combat that.

Sloane Stephens, Tennis

52 of 93

    Jason Kempin/Getty Images North America

Tennis is one of those sports where a handful of stars dominate the sport for more than a decade. So more often than not, fresh faces are fleeting, stealing the spotlight after an upset and then fading back into relative obscurity.

Just 21 years old, WTA pro Sloane Stephens has the looks, talent and charisma to carve her own place in the sport.

Vincent Lecavalier, Philadelphia Flyers

53 of 93

    Elsa/Getty Images North America

As a Penguins fan, and Pittsburgh fan in general, there are few things that can sour me on something—or someone—faster than covering it in orange. Browns. Bengals. Flyers. Syracuse. Plus, I’m a South Carolina fan, so you can throw in Clemson and Tennessee.

That should give you a sense of the conflicting emotions that battled within me as I made the bold decision to include Flyers center Vincent Lecavalier on this list. Did he look better in whatever the Lightning were wearing over the last decade? Of course.

Can my man pull off orange as well, if not weller, than an actual orange? Me thinks he can.

David Oliver, American Olympic Hurdler

54 of 93

    Marc Serota/Getty Images North America

American sprint hurdler David Oliver definitely represents an unrealistic physical expectation for your average man. I actually picked a photo of him in a suit rather than his racing gear because he can almost pass for a mere mortal when covered up.

Personally, I’ve never really been into ridiculously ripped and muscly guys, but there are exceptions to most rules. Oliver is obviously the exception to this one.

Miesha Tate, MMA

55 of 93

    Ethan Miller/Getty Images North America

One of the key differences between any old competition featuring a few attractive ladies wailing on each other and today’s major MMA spectacles is that the sport has given rise to women who are hot and fearsome in the Octagon.

Miesha Tate may not be at the top of her sport, but she’s a damn good fighter who just happens to look perfectly adroit on the red carpet.

Trent Cole, Philadelphia Eagles

56 of 93

    Justin Edmonds/Getty Images North America

I’m willing to concede that this Trent Cole thing may be my own personal thing. I never see or hear him mentioned in such frivolous non-football-focused conversations.

Though, that’s not to say it doesn’t continue to surprise me. I think it all stems from an interview ahead of a prime-time game I saw years ago—Cole’s easygoing nature and striking hazel eyes made a permanent impression.

It’s been years, but I still believe he’s one of the most underrated lookers in professional sports.

Cailey Isaacs, Virginia Tech

57 of 93

    Credit: @CaileyIsaacs on Twitter

If the IOC needs a compelling reason to keep women's softball in the Summer Games, then it should look no further than Virginia Tech's Cailey Isaacs.

Softball players are tough and determined, but they can be tough, determined and hot.

Yuna Kim, South Korean Figure Skater

58 of 93

I never thought the phrase pixel perfect could be applied to a living, breathing human being until I watched South Korean figure skater Yuna Kim perform...and...well, just exist.

Everything about her, from her complexion to her immaculately arranged....everything...makes me wonder if something created her from Adobe Photoshop and the rest of us from an Etch A Sketch.

Robinson Cano, Seattle Mariners

When you talk about the best smile among male professional athletes, only two names come to mind for me. And one of them is Mariners second baseman Robison Cano.

Cano has such a nice smile and set of teeth that even when he’s not necessarily smiling, it kinda looks like he’s smiling. Or, at least, will probably be smiling soon.

Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers

60 of 93

    Jared Wickerham/Getty Images North America

Speaking of smiles. If Cano is the first name that comes to mind, the second has to be Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Brown has a warm and welcoming way about him, which is a sharp contrast to some that have played the same position in Pittsburgh in recent years.

Alyson Dudek, American Speed Skater

61 of 93

    Matthew Stockman/Getty Images Europe

If Jerry Seinfeld of Seinfeld had his mind melded with a machine that transforms a guy’s fantasy into his perfect woman (well, perfect-looking women), the final product would probably be a dead ringer for U.S. speed skater Alyson Dudek.

Adding another exhibit to the pile of evidence showing that the Olympics have no shortage of really good-looking men and women, Dudak’s combination of immaculate raven hair, hazel eyes, flawless complexion and sexy-cute body is just lethal.

Lewis Hamilton, Formula 1

62 of 93

    Ker Robertson/Getty Images Europe

British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton projects an entirely different persona than that of NASCAR drivers in the U.S.. Not that there’s anything wrong with traveling to sporting events via a caravan of creatively decorated Winnebagos.

Hamilton is, in a word, cool. He always looks great, he’s dating the only Pussycat Doll whose name we know and he’s got high-end sponsorship deals with companies like Mercedes. The suave guy you know you should avoid because he's nothing but trouble—but you don't.

Ashley Wagner, American Figure Skater

63 of 93

    Matthew Stockman/Getty Images Europe

American figure skater Ashley Wager was really the surprise of the Sochi Olympics. One of the good surprises, though, as opposed to the bad surprises, like the dangerous face water pouring freely from the faucets.

Though she didn’t come home with a medal, Wager actually performed relatively well on the ice but was even more entertaining off the ice. She called shenanigans with the judges very early on in the games and was anything but shy about repeating her concerns.

Wager is a very good-looking woman who is made all the more attractive by her bold and dramatic personality. Drama is often used as a pejorative term when describing women and girls, but drama keeps things interesting.

You know what was drama-free? The 2013 BCS National Championship Game. And it was an abject nightmare.

Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears

64 of 93

    Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images North America

When it comes to Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall, his attractiveness has as much to do with—if not more so—his off-the-field transition as his general good looks.

It wasn’t that long ago that it looked like Marshall’s story was heading for a very unsavory ending. A few years later, he’s coming off the best season of his career and looks better than ever.

Everything about him looks and feels like a man who couldn’t be happier to have been gifted a second chance. And there’s nothing more attractive than a man who knows where he’s been and, more importantly, knows where he’s going.

Lara Gut, Swiss Super-G

65 of 93

    Paul Gilham/Getty Images Europe

In the case of Swiss super-G skier Lara Gut, she checks the blonde hair and blue eyes boxes on the “I’m from Switzerland” schtick, but what is uniquely sexy about her is that she also embodies that "girl next door" look and ambiance that we prize here in the good ol’ U.S. of A.

So while the platinum-blonde, Swiss amazonian men think they want is sitting alone at the bar (because they’re terrified of her in person), Lara Gut is getting all the free drinks...and attention.

Alex Rios, Texas Rangers

66 of 93

    Jeff Gross/Getty Images North America

Alex Rios played the first few years of his career in Toronto before being released and moving on to Chicago to play for the White Sox. Last August, he was claimed off waivers by the Rangers, which just feels right.

Though he was born in Alabama, Rios is actually Puerto Rican-American—meaning he has way too much flavor for cold-climate locales. He already looks sexier in his new home. Hopefully, his game will also rise to the occasion.

Gina Carano, Retired MMA Fighter

    Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images North America

Regardless of whether men or women are competing, any sport the involves pummeling your opponent isn’t exactly synonymous with beauty and sex appeal.

MMA has surged in popularity over the last decade, and it’s partly because the sport has given female warriors like Gina Carano an opportunity to show that it is possible for blood, sweat and broken bones to be sexy.

Unlike the marathon head pounding of a 12-round boxing match, UFC and other major MMA organizations have created an event where sex and violence is transformed into sexy violence.

Alena Zavarzina, Russian Snowboarder

68 of 93

    Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Europe

Being hot is basically a skeleton key that gives a person access behind every velvet rope in the world. And when it comes to relationships, being a smokin’ elite Russian Olympian like snowboarder Alena Zavarzina pretty much guarantees that the special man in her life is willing to commit murder just to keep her happy.

Husband and fellow Olympic snowboarder Vic Wild didn’t kill anyone, but he did trade in his U.S. citizenship for to become a Russian, winning a gold medal in the parallel giant slalom for Russia in the 2014 Winter Games.

And in some circles, what he did was worse than murder.

Tom Brady, New England Patriots

69 of 93

    Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images North America

As much as it always pains me to acknowledge Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in any way, leaving him off a list of the most attractive people in sports is, quite simply, not an option.

Perhaps the only thing that pains me more is that, as a Marvel comic fan and devotee, beautiful Brady may very well be the closest living relative to Captain America.

Allyson Felix, U.S. Women’s Track and Field

70 of 93

    Paul Gilham/Getty Images Europe

American sprinter Allyson Felix is another addition to a proud fraternity of badass women’s track and field athletes who produce when the stakes are highest...and…look good doing it.

Felix excels at an athletic event that seems custom designed to create a body that gives the rest of us self-esteem issues. She’s slim, strong and has a butt that moonlights as one of those old-timey machines that entertains the easily amused by crushing pennies.

Maria Verchenova, Russian Golfer

71 of 93

    Stuart Franklin/Getty Images Europe

Russian women are like the Huns of beauty in sports: Just when you found a corner safe from invasion, a few dozen 6'0", leggy broads of assorted flirty styles march in and hog the spotlight.

Fortunately, what’s bad for their competition is awesome for anyone who can appreciate someone like Russian bombshell and rising LPGA talent Maria Verchenova strutting around the fairway in a sexy little outfit that probably shouldn’t exist in the same universe as John Daly’s pants.

Derek Jeter, New York Yankees

72 of 93

    Al Bello/Getty Images North America

There’s always been something about Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter that has allowed him to remain among the fray. Perhaps that something is the fact that he’s an exceptional ballplayer.

But then again, perhaps it’s not. The Jeet just has a likable face and way about him. If he and Alex Rodriguez ran the exact same political campaign, Jeter would be elected God and A-Rod would be sentenced to life without parole.

Never underestimate the power of a pretty face and positive disposition.

Skylar Diggins, Tulsa Shock

73 of 93

Allen Berezovsky/Getty Images North America Erika Go

In an era of attention-stealing smart phones and a love affair with irony, cool is definitely underrated. And in Tulsa Shock star Skylar Diggins, you get a sexy package that not only comes with true talent on the court but the added bonus of cool for free.

Diggins is in the Jay-Z (one) of cool, so anyone who finds himself on the outside looking in need not apply.

Anna Fenninger, Austrian Slalom

74 of 93

    Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Europe

Anyone who says that watching someone like Austrian alpine skier Anna Fenninger slice through powder down the side of mountain at an unforgiving speed isn’t a turn-on is a liar.

No amount of high-tech, elastic fabric is capable of keeping the leggy brunette’s beauty a secret, but, fortunately for you, today’s uniforms are about gripping rather than draping.

Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers

75 of 93

    Brad Barket/Getty Images North America

If Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist weren’t so obviously committed to the whole hockey thing, he could easily make a career as a Disney prince. Sweden seems like a lovely place, but I imagine vacationing there would take a toll on the self-esteem.

Nikki Caldwell, LSU Women’s Basketball Coach

76 of 93

    Jeff Gross/Getty Images North America

Women’s basketball coach Nikki Caldwell played college ball for the Lady Vols under the great Pat Summitt. Tennessee is also where she cut her teeth for years as an assistant coach before moving on to the head position at UCLA in 2008 and then LSU in 2011.

In the proud tradition of college basketball coaches, Caldwell is about as animated as they come. Seriously—I looked through an awful lot of photos, and this was one of the chillest of the bunch. The difference between her and someone like Rick Pitino or John Calipari, you ask? She makes this look good.

Where as those guys make it look like this...and this. ::Shudder::

Stephanie Essin, University of Oregon Cheerleader

77 of 93

In the ancient parable "California Girls," the Beach Boys conspicuously leave a Pacific Northwest-sized hole in their wisdom regarding how various regions measure up to California girls.

Though faith has its place, sometimes you have to trust your senses and your instincts—both of which should be sending a clear message about "Oregon Girls" after taking a look at stunning recent graduate and Ducks cheerleader Stephanie Essin.

Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat

78 of 93

    Timothy Hiatt/Getty Images North America

Each member of the Heat’s Big Three play their own parts. LeBron James is the superstar talent. Chris Bosh is the entertaining oddball. And Dwyane Wade is the hot one with two chronically enfeebled knees.

Nobody freak out. Obviously, the trio's dynamic is just a smidge more complicated than that, but if you already know that, then there’s no need explaining it. And if you don’t know that, there’s probably a reason for it.

Katherine Webb, WAG

79 of 93

    Jason Merritt/Getty Images North America

Although classifying former beauty queen Katherine Webb as someone “in sports” is questionable, there’s no question that she earned a permanent place in sports lore because of the way she was discovered—if that’s how you want to describe Brent Musburger lusting after her to a nationally televised audience.

Webb, who is the girlfriend of former Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, doesn’t seem as though she’ll be ceding the spotlight any time soon. It’s yet to be seen if she’s anything more than just another pretty face, but even so, at least it’s a really pretty face.

Darya Klishina, Russian Long Jumper

80 of 93

    Ian Walton/Getty Images Europe

Just when you thought Russia had shown its hand amid this hot war over which world power can pump out the most gorgeous athletes, long jumper Darya Klishina comes along—competing in an event that probably represents the tiniest fraction of any given track and field competitions yet is armed to the teeth with envy-baiting features that promise scorched-earth tactics.

Seriously, between the blonde hair, just ridiculous body, impossibly defined cheek bones and other elements of her weaponized anatomy, I’m only being somewhat facetious when I suggest that she may be a CGI creation.

Sydney Leroux, U.S. Women’s Soccer

81 of 93

    Patrick Smith/Getty Images North America

I have no problem with the lesson extolled by the old cliche you can’t judge a book by its cover; you can’t convince me that a girl named Sydney Leroux—by mere virtue of her name—is not going to be a handful.

That’s the kind of name that inevitably turns a gut reaction into a spot-on personality profile; and I’ve got news for you ladies, nothing about this is negative when it comes to the average guy.

In fact, the tattoos, the edgy personality and all the related shenanigans may be hard to keep up with if you’re her friend, but it’s like honey to a fly when it comes to half-drunk, single men.

Feliciano Lopez, Spanish Tennis Player

82 of 93

    Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images Europe

Foxy Feliciano Lopez may be living in the shadow of a fellow Spaniard, Rafael Nadal, in terms of prize money, wins, Grand Slams, world ranking and overall talent, but at least he’s better looking!

Of course, something tells me that’s of little consolation to Lopez, who would much rather be ugly and have that extra $60 million in career earnings. That kinda money could buy a pretty great face anyway.

Anastasia Ashley, Surfer

83 of 93

Surfer Anastasia Ashley may never top the ASP rankings, but she’s certainly leading the way among surfers in self-promotion. In 2013, she became a full-on viral sensation twice

Last August, a video of Ashley’s warm-up twerking was uploaded to YouTube. To date, it has over six million views. Three months later, she recreated a Kim Kardashian selfie, and the world rejoiced.

Arianny Celeste, UFC Octagon Girl

84 of 93

    Ethan Miller/Getty Images North America

If you’ve ever seen a UFC event, you know the only way to get attention is to demand it. Usually, that’s done via questionable song choices for fighter entrances and followed up with a brutal beatdown of some sort.

Octagon girl Arianny Celeste doesn’t have to worry about any of that stuff, though—not at UFC events, and probably not anywhere else in life, either. She’s one of the very few people who can silence a room just by entering it.

Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers

85 of 93

    Christian Petersen/Getty Images North America

Although there’s probably plenty of teams in MLB that would love to have Matt Kemp, there’s nowhere he fits better than with the Dodgers. He’s been known to enjoy the perks of being a celebrity, and his movie-star good looks just make sense in Los Angeles.

His location actually allows Kemp to blend in a bit more than he would playing somewhere like Cleveland or Milwaukee. Going to parties isn’t nearly as much fun if the party is constantly following you all over town.

Kaitlyn Farrington, American Snowboarder

86 of 93

    Quinn Rooney/Getty Images Europe

U.S. snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington is the real-life version of that "awesome chick" movie character who represents a convergence of physical, emotional and personality traits that in almost any circumstance would repel one another like the identical poles of a magnet.

Think…"Sloane Peterson" from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Farrington is one of the best female snowboarders in the world and simultaneously exudes sexy, cute, tomboy, fun, rebellious and down-to-earth charm. Damn.

Brittney Schram, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader

87 of 93

    AP Photo/LM Otero

As is apparent to everyone with properly functioning eyeballs, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, as a whole, are always a sight to be seen. They’re so collectively stunning that standing out as an individual in that group is almost impossible.

That being said, DCC veteran Brittney Schram definitely has a knack for being seen. She is easily recognized as one of the most photographed faces among the cheerleaders in the Getty and AP archives, and it’s not very hard to see why.

David Beckham, Retired English Footballer

88 of 93

    Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images North America

Sometimes it seems like the rest of us are getting older, but the delicious David Beckham, who will forever be England’s finest export, somehow stays the same age.

And now that I’m reading over the above sentence, I just realized that in this Dazed and Confused scenario, I’m David Wooderson and Beckham is...high school girls. Awesome.

Aja Evans, American Bobsledder

89 of 93

    Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images Europe

Aja Evans is one-half of the two-woman bobsled team that won bronze for the U.S. at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. She may have finished in third place, but she stole the show on the podium with her megawatt smile.

Kristine Leahy, CBS Sports

90 of 93

Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images North America

Kristine Leahy is a Boston blonde making it big on the left coast. Though her stunning good looks certainly won’t hurt in Southern California, she owes most of her success to a whole lot of hard work.

Leahy pulls double duty in the sports world, anchoring for CBSLA and KCAL. Out of the studio, she’s covered the NCAA tournament, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Final, MLB playoffs and the Super Bowl, among other events.

Bobby Wagner, Seattle Seahawks

91 of 93

    Elsa/Getty Images North America

A second-round pick out of Utah State in 2012, Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner didn’t have to wait to see some serious success in the NFL. Not only is he playing for the reigning Super Bowl champs, he’s also been declared (by me) the most attractive athlete in the league.

Yes, I know that’s not the least bit fair. How on earth a measly little world championship is ever going to live up to the other honor is anybody’s guess. Good luck living forever in my shadow, Lombardi Trophy. But seriously, if you know Bobby Wagner, please tell him to tweet me.

Sharmila Nicollet, Golfer

92 of 93

    Stuart Franklin/Getty Images Europe

LPGA golfer Sharmila Nicollet is living proof that the beauty gap between the young women on tour and the dudes of the PGA is more aptly described as a chasm.

What a treat for us ladies—we get a booze-guzzling Rory McElroy and you guys get absolute stunners like Nicollet who are actually paid to go spend their days working to get better at a game that is a frustrating and expensive inconvenience for the average wife or girlfriend.

Alex Morgan, U.S. Women’s Soccer

93 of 93

    Michael Buckner/Getty Images North America

In my own experience as a freelance writer of whatever, I don’t believe I’ve encountered another athlete as universally beloved as American soccer star Alex Morgan. She’s talented, beautiful, infinitely likable and all around adorable.

It’s rare to see an athlete so wholly embraced by both men and women. Maybe it’s because, despite her star status and movie-star good looks, Morgan always seems to stay grounded and inexplicably approachable. Not that you should go try to approach her—that would be weird.
