Monday Night Doubleheader - Baltimore at Cincy, Zona at San Fran
Week One in the NFL got everyone who cares about sports stirred up to see how his team was gonna look this season. Although it's still not clear whether your team's going to the Super Bowl or missing the playoffs, you now have a measuring stick (I hope mine's way off coming from a Saints fan.).
Tonight it's Baltimore's always-ridiculous defense and the offense with too many stars named Johnson facing off right before another matchup of young, talented QB's (ask Eli Manning and Tony Romo how they think this one's gonna go). Here's my take on the conclusions to Week 1.
Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (7:00 EST ESPN)
The high-powered Cincinnati Bengals offense starring one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks Carson Palmer, ridiculous receiver Chad Johnson aka Ocho Cinco, and steady running back Rudi Johnson needs to play full throttle tonight at home against a Ravens defense that has been the best in the league for most of this decade. When it comes down to it I believe the Ravens with their once again unbelieveable defense and new addition at running back Willis McGahee will prevail.
Prediction: Baltimore 17 Cincinnati 3
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers (10:15 EST ESPN)
This matchup between two young teams with extraordinary talent at the offensive skill positions is a difficult one to predict, and some believe it won't matter. Widely expected to be the bottom two of the NFC West, these teams each have a lot to prove tonight. The Cardinals are the more experienced of the two with Edgerrin James at running back and Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald at receivers, but Matt Leinart has to get them the ball to be successful. On the other side, running back Frank Gore surprised most of the NFL last year with his breakout season; and Alex Smith can play if he gets some protection. Tight end Vernon Davis has elite speed and is difficult to defend.
Prediction: Arizona 24 San Francisco 28
