The Washington Wizards (36-33) withstood a late rally on their way to a 117-107 win over the Los Angeles Lakers (22-46) at the Staples Center on Friday.
John Wall had a huge game for the Wizards. as he led the charge with his passing early and scoring late. He dished out nine assists in the first quarter, and finished the game with 28 points and 14 assists.
Six other Wizards reached double-figures, including 18 from Bradley Beal and 11 points and 11 rebounds from Drew Gooden.
The Lakers got a kickstart from the return of Steve Nash, who totaled 11 assists and five points in 19 minutes.
Nick Young and Jodie Meeks carried the scoring load, as they tallied 21 points a piece.
