In my previous article, I took a poll to see how Maryland fans felt.  Would Vasquez stay or would he go?  Most said he would stay—at least most were hoping he would stay.

On Monday, they got their wish, and so did I.  It was a long wait, but Vasquez had the right to test the waters.  One of his dreams is to become a professional basketball player in the NBA.  It was a great experience for him and he knows what to look for after next season.

In a blink of an eye, the hopes of a successful season for the Maryland Terps next season can clearly be seen.  Vasquez apparently informed Coach Williams about his intention to return and Coach is very excited about the upcoming season.

No only is Coach Williams excited, but Landon Milbourne and Eric Hayes are excited. The three came in together as freshman and you can imagine that they wanted to go out together.  They also probably want to be remembered together and remembered as players that made a difference for the Terps.  They will now get down to work this summer and prepare for the next season.  Coupled with the new recruits and the remaining squad members, I feel the Terps will once again be respectable.

The Terps were the talk of the beach in Ocean City, Maryland today.  With rumors of  Vasquez possibly returning, many Maryland fans were getting excited.  To sum up their feelings, one would have to say they were starting to get the feeling about Terps that they had just a few years ago.

Fans will now have to wait and see.  The season seems so far away.  For the Terps basketball fans, this season may be well worth the wait.  Get your tickets early.  You see, this could be the season that once again, teams fear the turtle!
