"I thought we played well," Cahill told Bleacher Report. "I thought we made it comfy in the end against a difficult team. [...] There were a lot of positives to take from tonight. We looked strong."
Of course, it was a former teammate of Cahill's who was the centre of attention on the night, and the defender added that he was happy to have kept Didier Drogba quiet upon his Stamford Bridge return.
"It's hard [to keep Drogba quiet], but it's always difficult when you come back to your old club, especially having done what he's done," he said.
"Again, credit to the team. We kept pushing hard, and that's what kept them quiet."
