The 2014 edition of WrestleMania is just around the corner, and there is plenty to keep fans interested as the show rumbles around.
Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H is fascinating on plenty of levels—including which man will advance to the main event and face Randy Orton and Batista. Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker promises to be a spectacular battle—as is often the case with Taker.
However, for all the good of WrestleMania XXX, there will be some feuds out there that will let everyone down. Whether it is because of a lack of star power, or simply a stale rivalry, some feuds will be disappointing people at the show.
Granted, there will not be many, but there are a small handful that will flatter to deceive when it comes to WrestleMania XXX.
Sheamus vs. Christian
It looks like this feud could be heading for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal—which almost indicates just how poorly drawn out it has been.
This could have been a nice match to fill the card up at WrestleMania XXX when it first began, but it has gone nowhere fast—and become incredibly stale.
It's hard to determine who is at fault for that—the booking has been far from spectacular, after all. It's hard to keep things fresh when you get both men fighting each other every single week on Raw. Sheamus himself looks to have gone a bit stale, too—perhaps a heel turn would be a smart move for him following WrestleMania XXX.
As for Christian, you would be hard pushed to find a real role in the upper echelons of the card for him following WrestleMania. On a whole, this rivalry just has not worked, and should it be played out in the midst of the battle royal, it will be incredibly unspectacular.
AJ Lee vs. A Diva
The fact that there are just under three weeks left until WrestleMania XXX—and AJ Lee has no defining contender to fight at the show—sums up just how poor the Divas division is at this moment in time.
By now, we should have really had a true contender emerge from the pack, and set up a prolonged rivalry with Lee. That, in essence, has been the problem with the division for such a long time—it is criminally underused in general.
Surely picking someone like Brie Bella or Cameron—or even going back to someone like Natalya—and pushing them to Lee's level would have made much more sense than what we see played out every week. It feels like there is someone different trying to be the No. 1 contender every time Lee steps in the ring—that is just all wrong.
Something needs sorting quickly. Otherwise, the Divas match at WrestleMania XXX will be incredibly forgettable.
The Shield vs. Kane
Thankfully, it seems like The Shield are turning face and remaining as a trio. However, having them feud with Kane in the buildup to WrestleMania XXX makes little sense.
It is understandably hard to find something worthwhile for The Shield, given how Bray Wyatt will be in action against John Cena. That rules out the resumption of the brilliant rivalry the two big stables had earlier this year.
You couldn't even really put them in the battle royal. That would raise the possibility of them eliminating each other from the match. When they have just turned face and are supposed to be on the same page, that makes no sense.
If Kane helps to put The Shield over as a credible face group, fair enough. However, when it comes to WrestleMania, you need the very best rivalries. This would not be one of them.
