South Carolina Football: Clowney Gone, What's Next for Gamecock Defense?

Team Stream Now@@bleacherreportB/R VideoMarch 18, 2014

Jadeveon Clowney was the face of the South Carolina defense for the past three seasons, but with the star defensive end leaving for the NFL, how can the Gamecocks keep their defense rolling?

According to Josh Kendall of Go Gamecocks, defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward is considering switching the defense to a 3-4 alignment. Does South Carolina have the depth and size for this transition? Can the Gamecocks replace Clowney by switching to the 3-4?

Watch B/R's SEC Lead Writer Barrett Sallee and CFB National Lead Writer Michael Felder debate if this defensive switch makes sense for the Gamecocks in 2014.
