Which NCAA conferences have produced the most NBA championships this decade? ACC? Pac-10? SEC? Big East? Big 12?

I will take into account not just the number of championships won by players coming out of the school, but the impact the players had on those championships.

For example, Adam Morrison, out of Gonzaga in the WCC, just won an NBA Title. However, I think we would all agree that he had very little impact on winning the title.

Conversely, Derek Fisher, out of Arkansas - Little Rock in the Sunbelt Conference, had a lot to do with the Lakers winning their title.

High Shool & Foreign Players

ORLANDO, FL - JUNE 11: Pau Gasol #16 hugs Kobe Bryant #24 of the Los Angeles Lakers in the final moments of the Lakers' overtime win over the Orlando Magic in Game Four of the 2009 NBA Finals on June 11, 2009 at Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida. NOTE TO

Before we get into the NCAA conferences, lets look at the championships won by players coming out of high school and foreign countries.

Six players coming out of high school have accounted for nine championship rings this decade. Four rings for Kobe, and one each for the other five players. All but one were starters, and one earned an NBA Finals MVP (Bryant).

The other five players are Kevin Garnett, Kendrick Perkins, Andrew Bynum, Stephen Jackson and Dorrell Wright.

Thirteen foreign players have accounted for 19 championships this decade, including four starters, and one Finals MVP (Tony Parker). The other three starters are Manu Ginobili, Fabricio Oberto, and Pau Gasol.

The remaining nine players are Mengke Bateer, Sun Yue, Darko Milicic, Beno Udrih, Rasho Nesterovic, Sasha Vujacic, Mehmet Okur, Stanislav Medvedenko, and Didier Ilunga-Mbenga.

10. Patriot League

The single Championship produced by the Patriot league this decade came through David Robinson in 2003.

Robinson (Navy) was one of the "Twin Towers" and a huge part of the Spurs winning the title that year.

9. Atlantic 10

LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 15: Lamar Odonm #7 of the Los Angeles Lakers loses control of the ball under pressure from James Posey #41 of the Boston Celtics in the first half of Game Five of the 2008 NBA Finals on June 15, 2008 at Staples Center in Los Angele

The Atlantic 10 conference can claim four Championships with three different players. These players are Lamar Odom (Rhode Island), James Posey (Xavier) and Mike James (Duquesne).

Lamar Odom and James Posey each played an integral role for their teams as the sixth man. Both played very well in the Finals, Lamer Odom in 2009 with the Lakers, and James Posey in 2006 with the Miami Heat and 2008 with the Boston Celtics.

8. Sunbelt Conference

ORLANDO, FL - JUNE 14: Derek Fisher #2 of the Los Angeles Lakers smiles during the post game news conference after the Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic 99-86 to win the NBA Championship in Game Five of the 2009 NBA Finals on June 14, 2009 at Amway Arena

All that needs to be said here is, Derek Fisher. Fisher (Arkansas - Little Rock) has been a very important part of the Lakers winning four titles this decade.

Thanks to Fisher, the Sunbelt Conference can boast four Championships this decade.

7. Big Ten

LOS ANGELES - DECEMBER 10: Michael Finley #4 of the Dallas Mavericks shoots over Glen Rice #41 of the Los Angeles Clippers December 10, 2003 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by down

The Big Ten is responsible for eight NBA Championships from eight different players.

Two of these players were starters for their teams. Glen Rice (Michigan) with the Lakers in 2000, and Michael Finley (Wisconsin) with the Spurs in 2007.

The remaining six players are Steve Smith, Kevin Willis, Shannon Brown (each from Michigan St), Sam Jacobson (Minnesota), Joe Crispin (Penn State) and Glenn Robinson (Purdue).

6. Big West

DALLAS - APRIL 25: Guard Bruce Bowen #12 of the San Antonio Spurs during play against the Dallas Mavericks in Game Four of the Western Conference Quarterfinals during the 2009 NBA Playoffs at American Airlines Center on April 25, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. N

The Big West has produced six NBA Championships from just two players.

Bruce Bowen (Cal St Fullerton) and Brain Shaw (Cal - Santa Barbara) each helped his team win three titles.

Bruce Bowen was a starter and huge impact player for the Spurs in 2003, 2005, and 2007.

Brian Shaw was a role player for the Lakers during their three-peat from 2000 - 2002.

5. Pac 10

ORLANDO, FL - JUNE 14: Trevor Ariza #3 of the Los Angeles Lakers celebrates after defeating the Orlando Magic 99-86 in Game Five of the 2009 NBA Finals on June 14, 2009 at Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and a

Now we're getting into the serious conferences. At first glance the Pac 10 should be a lot higher in this list than five. They have produced more Championship players than any other conference at 15, and the second most number of titles at 17.

But this is a case of quantity without much quality. Among those 15 players, only two of them started. And, no disrespect to those two players, they are pretty average players.

The two starters are Trevor Ariza (UCLA) and AC Green (Oregon St). They both played for the Lakers with Green winning in 2000, and Ariza winning in 2009.

The remaining 13 players are Steve Kerr, Luke Walton (both from Arizona), Eddie House (Arizona St), Leon Powe, Francisco Elson, Sean Marks (all three from California), Brent Barry (Oregon St), Mark Madsen (Stanford), Jason Kapono, Jelani McCoy, Jordan Farmar (each from UCLA), Gabe Pruit, and Brian Scalibrine (both from USC).

4. Big 12

AUBURN HILLS, MI - MAY 26: Paul Pierce #24 of the Boston Celtics handles the ball against Chauncey Billups #1 of the Detroit Pistons during Game Four of the Eastern Conference finals during the 2008 NBA Playoffs at the Palace at Auburn Hills on May 26, 2

The Big 12 has seen nine players go on to win 10 NBA Championships this decade. Just two of these players were starters, but they each were the leader of their team and the winner of the Finals MVP.

These two players are Paul Pierce (Kansas) and Chauncey Billups (Colorado). Billups led the Pistons to their 2004 title, while Pierce led the Celtics to the Championship in 2008.

The remaining seven players are Scott Pollard, Jacque Vaughn, Wayne Simien (each from Kansas), Mitch Richmond (Kansas St), Tyronne Lue (Nebreska), Tony Allen (Oklahoma St), and Darvin Ham (Texas Tech).

3. Big East

Eight players from the Big East have won eight NBA titles this decade.

The huge impact players here are Dwayne Wade (Marquette), Ray Allen and Richard Hamilton (both out of UCONN).

Dwayne Wade put on a performance for the ages and earned Finals MVP when he led the Heat to the title in 2006. Ray Allen was an important part of the "Big Three" for Boston in 2008, and Richard Hamilton was the scorer for the Pistons in 2004.

The remaining five players are Alonzo Mourning (Georgetown), Samaki Walker (Louisville), James White (Cincinatti), Travis Night (UCONN), and John Celestand (Villanova).

2. ACC

SAN ANTONIO - JUNE 17: Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs holds the Larry O'Brien trophy during the NBA championship parade down the San Antonio River walk June 17, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, b

The ACC has seen 10 players go on to win 14 NBA Championships this decade.

The one standout player here is Tim Duncan (Wake Forest) who anchored the San Antonio Spurs to three NBA titles (2003, 2005, 2007) and earned two Finals MVP trophies along the way.

Besides Duncan, the ACC brags three other NBA Championship starting players. These players are Rasheed Wallace, Rick Fox (both out of North Carolina) and Horace Grant (Clemson).

The remaining six players are Elden Campbell (Clemson), Danny Ferry (Duke), Sam Cassel (Florida St), John Salley (Georgia Tech), Tony Massenburg (Maryland) and Josh Powell (North Carolina St).

1. SEC

As soon as you realize that Shaq and Robert Horry both came out of the SEC, its obvious who should be number one. Alone, they combine for nine championships this decade (four for Shaq, five for Horry).

The SEC has produced 13 NBA Championship players, accounting for 20 separate rings this decade. Eight of the 13 players started in the NBA Finals.

Every championship team this decade, other than the 2003 Spurs and the 2009 Lakers, has had an SEC player on the roster.

Shaq (LSU) led the Lakers to a three-peat from 2000-2002, winning 3 consecutive Finals MVP awards. He then won a title with the Heat in 2006.

Robert Horry (Alabama) was part of Shaq's three-peat in LA, and then won two titles with the Spurs in 2005 and 2007.

Six other starters from the SEC are Udonis Haslem, Jason Williams (both from Florida), Rajon Rondo, Antoine Walker, Nazr Mohammed and Tayshaun Prince (all four out of Kentucky).

The remaining five players are Corliss Williamson (Arkansas), Matt Bonner (Florida), Shandon Andersen (Georgie), Glen Davis (LSU) and Derek Anderson (Kentucky).
