He has been in the main event for the last two WrestleMania shows, but for John Cena, things are going to be a little bit different in 2014.

The spotlight and hype around both WrestleMania 28 and 29 were all about Cena vs. The Rock. Whatever you think about Cena, he was part of the big selling points in 2012 and 2013, and he did a pretty decent job of promoting those events, too.

This time around, Cena will not be in the main event. He will perhaps take place in the third or fourth match on the card, as he is set to take on Bray Wyatt in a pretty exciting bout. You would imagine Randy Orton vs. Batista and The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar will be higher upand it is only the stipulation surrounding Daniel Bryan's match that will prevent him from being on later that Cena.

Cena is going to certainly be more subdued in terms of his WrestleMania performance this year, and that is no bad thing. First and foremost, it allows people like Bryan to step up and get more of the attention. He deserves it, tooespecially after the debacle of 2012 when he lost in 18 seconds to Sheamus

And after two WrestleMania shows in a row dominating the attention, the time is right for Cena to take a backward step and allow others to step into the spotlight. That is not to say John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt will be pointlessfar from it, in fact. If it is played out correctly, then Wyatt will hopefully emerge from the match an even bigger star than he already is.

Wyatt's first serious WrestleMania moment needs to be slightly lower on the card, too. It would be silly to throw him in at the deep end and have him headline a WrestleMania show. The Miz did that oncelook where he is now.

John Cena is a man who splits opinion amongst fans of the WWEthat much is a certainty. There will a sense of joy amongst many that Cena will not be hogging the limelight at WrestleMania XXX. That, in some ways, will help to endear himself to a few more wrestling fans. If he can put on a solid show with Wyatt somewhere around the middle of the card, it will allow the rest of the wrestlers on the card to have their moments.

The onus will be on Cena to step it up a level inside the ring, tooespecially if he is lower down the card. Of late, some of John Cena's matches have been pretty goodsomething seems to have developed in terms of his matches. That is not to say he used to put on spectacularly bad ones, but his work between the ropes does seem to be improving. His match with Cesaro recently was a fine example of that.

With John Cena lower down the card this year, it lets the likes of Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton take their chances in high-profile spots that their good work deserves. It also lets Cena take on a relatively fresh role in terms of his WrestleMania inputwhich is no bad thing. Some new direction will surely come out of it in terms of a new rivalry, and Cena's match will arguably be better for being in a more subdued role.

All in all, the WWE just might be spot-on with John Cena's booking this year.
