Tottenham Hotspur are in the running to sign Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers, per Matthew Nash of Metro.
Remy has scored 13 Premier League goals on loan at Newcastle United this season, but whether or not he will extend his loan to a permanent transfer remains uncertain, per Mark Douglas of The Journal.
If Remy signs with Spurs, it could have a crippling effect on the confidence of £26 million summer signing Roberto Soldado, who has only scored six goals in 24 Premier League games.
Spurs need to back Soldado, and targeting Remy will further hinder the Spaniard's aims to avoid becoming another Sergei Rebrov.
While Remy has become an elite forward, if Spurs wanted to replace Soldado, it would be more ideal to target a younger player.
One suggestion would be Lyon's 22-year-old Alexandre Lacazette, who has scored the same amount of league goals as Remy (13) but is five years younger.
