Now Brian Brohm on the other hand. This valuable QB just came off a spectacular 12-1 season with Louisville. He has a 65% completion percentage. He threw for over 4000 yards in his last NCAA season. He has the potential to carry the packers for a few years.
NFL Draft: Green Bay Drafts Brian Brohm, Ends Aaron Rodgers Era Before It Starts
As we all know Brett Favre has announced his retirement. Weather its official only Favre himself knows. Sense this tragedy occurred it looked like the new leader of this Legendary Franchise was going to be Aaron Rodgers. The packers back up QB. But it looks like he isn't going to be that starter in 09. Because the 56th pick in the NFL draft was Brian Brohm to go to the Green Bay Packers. Now people think Brohm just creates a little competition for the spot as starting QB. But this pick changes every thing. Aaron Rodgers has proven him self to be a back up QB for a QB who hasen't missed the last 253 games. When Aaron finally gets a shot he gets injured or fails to move the ball. Overall Rodgers might be the most unreliable ( Health Wise) QB in the league. Besides that terrible BACKUP QB over in New York, Pennington.

For your information, Pennington led the Jets to the playoffs twice since joining the Jets. Let me also remind you that he's the only playe to ever come back and play after 2 rotator cuff injuries so lay off. Don't even try to compare Rodgers to Pennington. There is no comparison. Pennington is by far the better QB. His problem has been that he's had no supporting cast offensivles, defensively, or any kind of ensively.

Easy to say when Rodgers has had no chance to prove himself.
Nevertheless, I also think it is premature to assume that the Packers are replacing Rodgers before he starts. Because of his fragility (which IS an apt comparison to Pennington) they felt they couldn't put all their eggs in one basket.

Dude, Pennington s considered one of the most accurate QB's in the NFL and agreeing with Matt, there really is no comparison, at all.

What's with the Pennington love? He was pretty good until his arm started falling off. Now he can't make the throws required of an NFL quarterback.
I'd love him as a backup...but a starter? No thanks. I'll take my chances with someone else...

Sean is right, Pennington simply doesn't have the arm necessary to make NFL throws. He can't throw outside of the hashmarks, nor can he throw the deep ball. Don't get me wrong, he was a serviceable starter for a few years, but he's not (and never will be) a QB who can lead you deep into the playoffs.

Pennington was a quality starter before his arm became a bust. None the less there is still absolutely no comparison of Rodgers being better than Pennington.

Can you tell me where Furfaro calls Rodgers better than Pennington? He said he was the most unreliable (as in being healthy) aside from MAYBE Pennington. Don't get so worked up emotionally you lose sight of what is actually said...

MJ, i understand where your point of view is coming from and i see what you mean, but he did say besides the "wanna be", basically saying he was worse/more unreliable and i think he didn't mean jsut health wise. i think he's comparing statistics which is not only unfair to Rodgers due to lack of oppurtunity and unfair to Pennignton who was at one point good

Furf you have got to chill out with the wrecking of Aaron Rodgers. You never know what he could do. You have to move on from Farve. Yes he was great, but its not a tradgedy.

Furf chill wiith the Rogers era ending the Packers are going to start him in the begining of the season and most likely the whole season. If he gets injured that will be the best chance of Favre coming back so i dont see Brohm starting more than 5 games this season.
