The Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards are separated by mere percentage points in the Eastern Conference standings, so Saturday night's matchup in D.C. carries a little extra weight.

That became readily apparent in the first quarter, as Brooklyn's Paul Pierce screamed derisively in the direction of Washington's Trevor Booker.

The scream was a retaliation for an earlier play, in which Booker screamed at the veteran Pierce after blocking his shot.
