It's not the Big East of old, but the conference is still able to give college basketball a thrilling tournament.

Seton Hall surprisingly controlled its Big East quarterfinal game against No. 3 Villanova on Thursday, but it was in danger of going home disappointed. After a timeout with just under four seconds remaining, Pirates guard Sterling Gibbs hit a step-back jumper as time expired to give Seton Hall a 64-63 victory.

The Wildcats were in the conversation for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, but this loss will likely take them out of those talks.
