Burning a player's jersey when he leaves town or signs with a rival has become a trend in the United States, so it should come as no surprise that some New York Jets fans were willing to set fire to their old Darrelle Revis jerseys after the star signed with their rivals.
As ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday night, the cornerback agreed to a one-year, $12 million deal with the New England Patriots.
That move sent one Jets fan over the top:
He's going to regret doing that if Revis ends up going back to New York after this upcoming season.
One fan was a little bit more reasonable when venting:
@Revis24 I don't get you man. You hold the Jets hostage for more money yet you settle for a one year deal with our worst rival? Hurts, man.— Starz31 (@EvanStarr) March 13, 2014
The Patriots and Jets are heated rivals, so Revis joining the other side can't be easy for Jets fans to handle.
