Mayweather Injured; Fight With Marquez Postponed

Fans will have to wait for the return of Floyd "Money" Mayweather as the July 18 bout has been postponed due to a rib injury Mayweather sustained during training camp.

"I am exremely disappointed that this fight has to be postponed," said Mayweather.  "I was training very hard and looking forward to getting back in the ring on July 18th."

"I was very disappointed to hear the news about the fight being postponed," said Marquez from his training camp in Mexico.  "I will remain focused, in shape and ready to fight whenever the fight rescheduled for."

Mayweather was last seen in the ring in his 10 round destruction of British sensation Ricky Hatton in December of 2007.

Juan Manuel Marquez is coming off of two spectacular knockout wins over former champions Juan Diaz and Joel Casamayor which followed his split decision loss to the Filipino phenom, Manny Pacquiao.

No information is available at this time on when the fight will now take place.
