Clyde boss John Brown confirmed to the official club website that he has arranged the return of open trials to Broadwood as he searches to build a whole new squad for the new season.

“The trials will commence on Monday 22nd June. Dougie Bell, who has agreed to stay on a voluntary basis, will assist me and together we will assess all of the trialists who attend. This was a successful venture in the past and we would be wrong to ignore its potential again. We don’t have a great deal of money. However what we are offering is an opportunity for guys with ambition to take their chance to put themselves in the shop window.

“Clyde has started the careers of many players and the last time the trials were run within a matter of months the club was taking Rangers to extra-time and beating Celtic. We will offer the successful guys regular first team football and a chance for individuals to shine like others have done before. It can be an opportunity for some to be noticed or a chance to prove others wrong.

“The likelihood is that the squad will have a maximum of 20 players, so anyone picked will certainly have a chance to prove themselves and get into the senior game.”

Anyone interested can register their interest by emailing info@clydefc.co.uk, giving their details and experience to date, and the club will get back to you with more details.
