Vietnamese footballer Tran Dinh Dong has been banned a mind-boggling 28 matches by the Vietnamese Football Federation for this horror tackle by the 26-year-old.

Dong leaps and lands on Nguyen Anh Hung with both his studs. He immediately continues to play on, before falling on the pitch as the referee approaches grabbing his ankle. Oddly, he was only booked for the vicious attack.

Hung is now expected to miss a year as a result of the injury.

The VFF said in a statement (via 101 Great Goals): "The punishment is meant to be a warning to players throughout the nation, where violent behaviour on the field has gradually become more popular."
