After seeing his Game Three performance vs. the Suns (41 points, 12 assists, five rebounds), I had to write this article. Tony Parker is one of the best point guards in the game, easily in the Top Five.

I know he doesn't have the best numbers (19 and six in the regular season), but it's not because he can't. Its because he doesn't need to.

With his speed, first step and ball handling, he surely could be a 30-PPG player. He isn't because he plays with one of the best power forwards in history.

He is also on great defensive team that plays a slow and steady game. It's not easy to stand out, and he clearly doesn't mind that.

Imagine Tony on a team like the Suns. I'd say he'd have 30 and 10 at the end of most games. He would take a lot more shots, make a lot more assists and simply put out the numbers he is capable of producing.

Actually, he could do that with most teams in the league - just not with the Spurs. Simply put, the guy is a scorer, and he is wasted in a team that doesn't score (90 PPG).

After all, the Spurs are a great team, and I don't think he should throw everything away to get his 30 points per game. He has a good place on the team, three rings, and a solid chance to get more.

So the next time you make a list of the top point guards in the game, consider Tony in the Top 5, not the Top 15 as a lot of people do.
