Hoverboards are finally here! Well, not really.

Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens and professional skateboarder Tony Hawk are among the celebrities in this video from HUVr Tech which features Christopher Lloyd, A.K.A. Doc Brown from Back to the Future, showing off "hoverboard" technology.

While it's clear the fake demonstration is promoting something, no one really seems to know what. Some have speculated it's for a movie.

UPDATE: Wednesday, March 5, 3:50 p.m. ET

According to Mashable, comedy website Funny or Die are the masterminds behind the hoverboard. The reveal came when a costume designer who worked on the shoot added the experience to her online résumé, which has since been deleted.
