The Colorado Avalanche skated off of the United Center ice with a 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks tonight in a contest that pitted two top power-play units against each other. 

The Blackhawks are now 9-9-3 vs. Central Division opponents while the Avalanche have found themselves within two points of the division lead. 

The young Colorado squad proved it can take on the likes of a powerhouse group like the Blackhawks in what could have been a preview of a Western Conference playoff series.
