A bad season has gotten worse for the New York Knicks, who lost their sixth straight game Sunday in Chicago.
Joakim Noah paced the Bulls with a triple-double (13 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists), while D.J. Augustin posted a game-high 23 points off the Chicago bench. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 21 points.
New York was six games back of eight-place Atlanta for the final spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs, and the chances of making a run to get into the postseason look slimmer by the day. Anthony has not been enough to carry an injury-ravaged and dysfunctional roster, as the team has slipped further into mediocrity.
Chicago, on the other hand, has not buckled under the weight of Derrick Rose's knee injury, managing to remain relevant in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
