WWE WrestleMania XXX: Undercard Matches That Need to Be Considered

In just five weeks, WWE will present WrestleMania 30 from New Orleans, La. Each year about this time, fans get geared up for the biggest show of the year.

Within the WWE locker room, Superstars are doing their part to get on the card, something each and every WWE talent aspires to achieve.

Those spots are limited, however. WWE generally opts to bring in legendary Superstars like The Undertaker or, as is the case this year, Hulk Hogan. That makes it harder for someone sitting lower on the card to get their chance to shine.

WrestleMania is a four-hour show, so WWE should try their best to get as many of their Superstars on the show as they can, even if it's just an in-ring segment.

Already confirmed for the show is Randy Orton defending the WWE World Title against Batista and Brock Lesnar challenging The Undertaker's undefeated streak.

You can probably pencil in Daniel Bryan versus Triple H at this point as well. It also appears a match between Sheamus and Christian may be planned.

So what does that leave? Hopefully plenty. WWE still has several talented wrestlers who deserve to be a part of this historic night.

Here is a look at several matches WWE should consider adding to the WrestleMania 30 card.

The Miz vs. Big Show

At WrestleMania 26, The Miz and Big Show walked into Phoenix, Ariz. as the Unified WWE Tag Team champions. Collectively known as ShoMiz, they successfully retained their titles against the team of John Morrison and R-Truth.

One year later, The Miz was in the main event of WrestleMania. He became one of the few men who can say they have a victory over John Cena at WrestleMania.

Since then, Miz hasn't come close to reaching that level of stardom. Recently, he has come out several times on Raw to complain to the broadcast team about his position within the company.

Miz has clearly fallen. Would a win over the massive Big Show change that? It certainly couldn't hurt.

Neither man has been featured much in recent storylines, so a match between the former tag team partners could be easily built in order to get both men on the show.

Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger

WWE seems to already be hinting at this match being a possibility, as they have made it seem that Jack Swagger is growing jealous of his tag team partner, Cesaro.

If Swagger isn't jealous, he should be. Cesaro has been as good as anyone in recent weeks.

Whether it be his match with John Cena on the Feb. 17 edition of Monday Night Raw, his performance in the Elimination Chamber match or the terrific encounter he had with Sami Zayn on NXT Arrival, Cesaro is turning heads everywhere.

As for Swagger, he was challenging for the WWE World title at WrestleMania just a year ago. A win over Cesaro could put him back on the road to a title shot.

Of course, the biggest question in the match would be surrounding what corner Zeb Colter would choose to be in.

New Age Outlaws vs. Uso's vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel vs. Goldust and Cody Rhodes

The New Age Outlaws have not competed at WrestleMania as a team since WrestleMania 14. Now, it appears that they could head into WrestleMania 30 as the WWE Tag Team champions.

The Outlaws have had several matches with both The Uso's and Goldust and Cody Rhodes. This would be a way for WWE to get multiple Superstars on the card while creating a competitive title match.

Truthfully, Rhodes versus Goldust in a battle between brothers would be a very intriguing match, but WWE doesn't seem interested in going in that direction.

The Uso's have scored multiple non-title wins over the Outlaws, and WrestleMania could be a good spot to reward them with gold.

WWE has always had a thing for matches featuring multiple Superstars at WrestleMania, so a fatal four-way match for the Tag Team titles is not out of the question.

Alexander Rusev Makes Singles Debut

Alexander Rusev has appeared in several vignettes on WWE television over the course of the last few weeks and WWE is doing a good job hyping his debut.

Rusev actually appeared in the Royal Rumble match, giving fans a glimpse of what he can do.

For those fans who aren't quite as familiar with him, the man is a beast.

Weighing in at over 300 pounds, Rusev is quick for his size and extremely powerful. Known as the "Bulgarian Brute", big things are in store for this man.

Last year, WWE heavily hyped the debut of Fandango, eventually decided to have him compete in his first match at WrestleMania. Not only did he debut on the biggest stage of the year, he defeated Chris Jericho.

Rusev could see similar treatment. WWE could keep teasing his debut with the video segments and appearances on television alongside his social ambassador, Lana.

This could lead into a match in New Orleans. As far as possible opponents for Rusev, either Kofi Kingston or Mark Henry could fill that role.

Bad News Barrett vs. Big E

As WWE Intercontinental champion, Big E is becoming one of the top young stars on the roster. A big title match at WrestleMania could give him even more momentum.

How about Bad News Barrett as a challenger? He has to stop talking and come down from that podium at some point, doesn't he?

Barrett is a former Intercontinental champion himself, and a match with Big E would be a hard-hitting affair between two Superstars with the ability to rise to the top of WWE.

It would be an interesting match from an unpredictability standpoint. Barrett hasn't competed since being given the new "Bad News" character and Big E has been on a tear since taking the Intercontinental title away from Curtis Axel.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio

Yes, WWE has had these two men square off many, many times in the past. But there is a backstory there, and both men should be part of the show.

Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank contract the night after WrestleMania 29 last year, taking the WWE World Title away from Alberto Del Rio.

An angle between these two men would probably feel a little rushed at this point unless WWE started it very soon, but it would get both men involved in the event and could put a cap on the rivalry between the two men.

Sadly, Ziggler likely won't be part of the show unless WWE decides to bury him even further.

Naomi vs. A.J. Lee

This match certainly wouldn't appeal to all fans, but it's a story in which WWE should put a resolution to at WrestleMania.

A.J. Lee has dominated the Divas division for some time now, holding the Divas title since last June. Naomi has been the one Diva she hasn't been able to solve.

Naomi has pinned A.J. many times in the past few weeks, but she's been inactive since suffering this knee to the face from Aksana a little over three weeks ago.

Since then, A.J. has faced Naomi's partner Cameron a couple of times, forcing her to tap out on Friday's edition of SmackDown.

While it certainly wouldn't be the best Divas match in history, WWE needs to either have A.J. overcome Naomi, or make Naomi the new champion.

Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

This has to be the direction WWE goes in.

Dissension within the ranks of The Shield seems pretty obvious at this point and a split of the group seems inevitable. All three men appear to be more than capable in singles competition.

Tensions could boil over in the weeks ahead, leading to WWE making a triple threat between the group. This would be similar to what they did at WrestleMania 26, having the group Legacy battle it out in a triple threat.

Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are already one of the most dominant teams in wrestling history. But the group has ran its course after multiple six-man tag team matches.

Against The Wyatt Family at Elimination Chamber, The Shield ended up having the numbers against them after Ambrose disappeared late in the match, leading to a loss.

Reigns has gotten the most attention as a singles competitor, and in the 30-man Royal Rumble match, he set a new record by eliminating 12 Superstars.

Reigns would likely be a heavy favorite to win the match, but both Ambrose and Rollins can get the job done.
