Alen Halilovic announced on Instagram on Friday that he was signing for Barcelona and, on the same social media site, pictures surfaced soon after indicating that the 17-year-old from Croatia had a tattoo of Barca's rivals Real Madrid on his wrist.

According to 101 Great Goals, Halilovic had shown the tattoo himself on Instagram, only to delete it at some point prior to announcing his transfer.

The message, "Hala Madrid," broadly translates to "Come on, Madrid" and is routinely used online in tweets about the club.

We can give no definitive answer as to whether it's real, however.

The picture above certainly dates back to January 2013 when it was circulated on Twitter.

All we can say is that in Halilovic's last Instagram picture, there's no indication of a tattoo on either wrist:

Still, if it has been made up, it only underlines the scale of the rivalry between the two sets of fans in el Clasico.
