College Football, Big Ten Football, Ohio State Football, Michigan Wolverines Football, Rich Rodriguez, Breaking News

I was going to save this short piece for until I unveiled the winners of the "Top 10 College Football Rivalries," which will be released on Sunday, but I couldn't wait.

There was a question I wanted to ask all the Michigan fans I ran into at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport during the Florida-Michigan game, back in January. So to all the Wolverines out there: How do you like these apples?

In a shocking press release from a few days ago, and reported on ESPN.com, the Ohio State Buckeyes announced on Wednesday that offensive lineman Justin Boren will become a Buckeye next season, leaving the program full of "loyal" Michigan Wolverines.

It was cited that Boren transferred due to Rich Rodriguez's lack of "family values." I am not a rocket scientist, but this was by far the biggest shocker since Pacman announcing that he will run for President in 2012.

In a move that will not only rock the foundation of this great rivalry but tip it on its side, Boren has decided to join the enemy. You know it's bad news when the Wolverines lose a fan to the other side, but a player?

That's just unheard of. Impossible. A sin, even.

But it is true, Ann Arbor. One of your own has decided that he'd rather play in a Horseshoe than The Big House. Now if this isn't a sign that God is at least a partial Buckeyes fan, I don't know what will convince you otherwise.

In any event, this move has catapulted the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry to the top of the Top 10 list. Until further notice, it's become clear that there will be more hatred, more intensity, and above all else, more bar fights come 2009.

I say 2009 because the NCAA is a couple of idiots who obviously take their ruling tips from Matt Walsh and Roger Goodell Castro.

Enjoy this moment, Ohio State. Because even before the season officially starts, you have already beaten the Wolverines in at least one category.

So Michigan: God Loves the Buckeyes! How do you like 'dem apples?

  1. Apparently Lloyd Carr had something to do with it. Boren told someone that Carr told him that the Buckeyes would be a good fit for him..

(sounds like somebody was going for redemption)..

  2. Too bad he doesn't love them in January, eh?

  3. Chris, as long as he keeps loving them in the last week of November every year I'm happy and you're not.

  4. Chris,
Since I'm the one that coined this phrase. I know this statement is true. It also looks like God vacations in early January and that he that he takes Monday nights off.

    Ohio Mike

  5. Oh, that's why. Wait a minute, I though God loved Notre Dame? If that's the case than there is no God, am I right?

  6. Like that picture? haha....

  7. You know, back in the 1990s during the John Cooper era, I was convinced God loved TSUN. Funny how times have changed, but its cyclical.

You still have the better overall record over the Buckeyes, if that means anything? ;)

Who knows, maybe we'll see the dawn of a new "Ten Year War" between Tressel and Rodriguez.

  8. Rodriguez is wrecking your program before the start of his first season. The people in Michigan want tolerate his shit like those did from WVU!

  9. want tolerate = won't tolerate

    sorry

  10. Wrecking the program? I think it's a little early to make that judgment. I suppose you would say that he wrecked the WV program right? Hmmm I don't think so, he took your team from mediocre to national championship contention in no time. Besides, he just got a commitment from the #39 ranked recruit in the country. I'd say he's doing all right. It was time for UM to move on, Carr had lost his touch, TresseLL had his number, that's for sure. Despite a decent season in 2006, that year was sandwiched between two years of utter embarrassment with a 7-5 record in '05 and good lord the horror to start last year.
