Like the groups before them, the 2015 recruiting class figures to bring a lot surprises. The trick is seeing what those surprises will be, but calling them before they happen is when things get crazy.

Well, it's happening with this piece, as several bold predictions will be made on the class of 2015 college football recruits.

Ohio State is going to sign a 5-star running back who is wanted by Michigan, and he's going to be the only elite running back prospect in the 2015 class. USC is going to land five 5-star recruits, but its rival in Westwood is going to sign a 5-star quarterback.

All recruiting ratings and rankings are from 247Sports.

Player evaluations are based on review of tape at Scout.comRivals and 247Sports.

California Will Sign a 4-Star Quarterback and 4-Star Receiver

After going 1-11 in his first season, California head coach Sonny Dykes is going to have to do a lot of explaining on the recruiting trail.

However, Cal has a chance to bring in a solid class next February. The Bears are going to land 4-star quarterback Brady White and 4-star receiver Trent Irwin.

Both recruits are 6'2" and 190 pounds, and both attend Hart High School in California. White and Irwin are the best quarterback-receiver duo at Hart High School since former NFL quarterback Kyle Boller and former UCLA receiver/Major League Baseball outfielder Jerry Owens.

There's Only Going to Be One 5-Star Running Back

Right now, Damien Harris is the only 5-star running back in the 2015 247Sports composite rankings.

Taj GriffinJordan ScarlettSoso JamaboDesherrius FlowersNick BrossetteJacques PatrickDerrius GuiceRodney Anderson are 4-star running backs who aren't considered one of the best 38 players in the nation.

While rankings are fluid and change constantly, Harris is going to finish the 2015 recruiting cycle as the lone 5-star running back.

Speaking of 5-Star Running Back Damien Harris, He Will Sign with Ohio State

Damien Harris is a 5-star running back from Kentucky who was committed to Michigan but backed off the Wolverines earlier this year.

At 5'11" and 205 pounds, Harris has a solid combination of speed and strength to be a bell-cow runner in college. Michigan remains in the mix for him, but Ohio State, Auburn and Kentucky have entered the fray, says 247Sports.

After months of working on him, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer will ultimately convince Harris to sign with the Buckeyes.

Marc Golver of BuckeyeGrove.com (subscription required) wrote on Feb. 17:

Harris' relationship with Meyer is a big part of the reason that Ohio State holds a solid position right now. The two have stayed in regular contact recently.

Deionte Thompson Will Be a 5-Star Safety Before the End of the Cycle

At 6'2" and 181 pounds, Deionte Thompson is a great 4-star safety prospect from Texas. He displays good speed, vision and instincts.

Thompson plays with solid range, plus he can assist the front-seven of a defense versus running plays. He's one of the better defensive players in this class, and he will be considered a 5-star prospect before February of 2015 is over.

George Campbell Will Drop

As it stands right now, 5-star athlete George Campbell is No. 12 in the 2015 247Sports composite rankings

While the Florida native is a 5-star talent, he's going to drop some in the rankings before it's all said and done. Campbell has a lot of ability, but he needs to work on his route-running if he plans on reaching his full potential as a receiver.

Josh Rosen Will Commit to UCLA on March 20

A 5-star prospect, Josh Rosen is the nation's top quarterback according to the 2015 247Sports composite rankings.

He's the big fish at powerhouse St. John Bosco in California, and has just about everything you'd want in a college quarterback prospect. Rosen is 6'4" and 205 pounds, plus he combines deceptive athleticism with good arm strength, accuracy and vision.

He's set to announce his decision on March 20, according to 247Sports. UCLA will be the pick.

Jordan Scarlett Will Not Sign with Florida Atlantic

Jordan Scarlett is a 4-star running back who is 5'10" and 197 pounds. He plays for Florida juggernaut St. Thomas Aquinas, where he uses solid strength and speed to slash through defenses.

Scarlett committed to FAU on Dec. 27, but he's not going to sign with the Owls. It's uncertain who Scarlett will indeed sign with, but there's too many "big" schools after him and too much time before National Signing Day for him not to be flipped.

Blake Barnett Will Start at Notre Dame Before DeShone Kizer

8 of 10

Blake Barnett is a 4-star quarterback from California with a good skill set. At nearly 6'4" and 195 pounds, Barnett has good size, arm strength and is a natural distributor of the football.

He's committed to Notre Dame, which signed 4-star quarterback DeShone Kizer in 2014. There's a lot to like about Kizer, as he has a lot of raw talent.

However, Barnett will start in South Bend before Kizer does.

Tyrek Cole Will Get in the 5-Star Discussion

A 4-star cornerback at the moment, Tyrek Cole has natural cover skills on the perimeter. He's nearly 5'11", but he has a slight frame that weighs only 170 pounds.

Cole displays loose hips and an ability to mirror receivers in off-man coverage. He shoots out of transition to flash to the football, showing a quick plant-and-drive to close on receivers.

His ability to simply smother receivers in coverage will put him in the discussion to be considered a 5-star recruit in the 2015 247Sports composite rankings before the end of this cycle.

USC Will Land a Surprise 5-Star Prospect

10 of 10

    Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

While USC already has 5-star quarterback Ricky Town committed, the Trojans are not going to stop there.

Cornerback Iman Marshall, linebacker John Houston and defensive tackle Rasheem Green are other 5-star prospects who will ultimately decide on USC.

However, whether it's 5-star receiver Christian Kirk, 5-star defensive end Terry Beckner Jr. or 5-star defensive back Tarvarus McFadden, the Trojans are going to pull out a surprise 5-star commitment in 2015.
