I try not to write many articles in the first person, but I think it is time to change it up a little bit. We all have our speculation and our wants for this coming season and with an overhaul almost guaranteed to take place, I figured I would list the Ranger lineup that I would like to see on opening night. The players' salaries are noted in the parentheses next to their names.

Line 1: Tanguay ($5 m)-Drury ($7 m)-Antropov ($3 m)
Line 2: Avery ($2 mil)-Marleau ($6.3 m)-Callahan ($2 m)
Line 3: Korpikoski ($1 m)-Anisimov ($.850)-Dubinsky ($2 m)
Line 4: Sjostrom ($.850)-Betts ($.900)-Orr ($.600)

Defense 1: Redden ($6.5 m)-Del Zotto ($.600 m)
Defense 2: Staal ($.765 m)-Girardi ($1.5 m)
Defense 3: Rozsival ($ 5 m)-Potter ($.535 m)

Goaltender 1
: Lundqvist ($6.87 m)
Goaltender 2: Valiquette ($.725 m)

1. Scott Gomez traded to San Jose for Patrick Marleau
2. Alex Tanguay signed to a 2-year/$10-million deal
3. Nik Antropov re-signed to a 4-year/$12-million deal
4. Ryan Callahan re-signed to a 3-year/$6-million deal after restricted free agency
5. Brandon Dubinsky re-signed to a 3-year/$6-million deal after restricted free agency
6. Freddy Sjostrom re-signed to a 1-year/$.850 deal
7. Blair Betts re-signed to a 2-year/$1.8-million deal
8. Colton Orr re-signed to a 1-year/$.600 deal
9. Artem Anisimov, Michael Del Zotto, and Corey Potter recalled from Hartford
