The top and bottom of the Big East is shaping up entering the last two weeks of the season. But the standings of the teams in between are not solidified as they battle for March.
The St. John’s Red Storm (18-10, 8-7) will take on the Xavier Musketeers (18-9, 8-6) at 7 p.m. in Madison Square Garden. Both teams hope to rebound from road losses and remain competitive in the Big East.
Every game moving forward is critical. Their seasons are on the line.
The Redmen will need their leading scoring D’Angelo Harrison, a guard who is averaging 17.8 points per game this season, to come up big. The next highest scorer on the team is forward Jakarr Sampson with 12.7 PPG.
Xavier will rely on center Matt Stainbrook to work the glass. He is averaging 8.3 rebounds per game, the most of anyone who will be on the court tonight.
The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports with Rich Ackerman and Tarik Turner on the call.
