Borussia Dortmund secured a sizable first-leg advantage in St. Petersburg on Tuesday night, beating Zenit 4-2 in sub-zero temperatures.

Robert Lewandowski bagged a brace after Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marco Reus had given BVB an early lead, with Oleg Shatov and Hulk scoring consolatory strikes for the home side.

Zenit must now pull off a modern-day miracle to advance to the quarterfinals.
