No. 20 Michigan is alone in first place in the Big Ten after completing a season sweep of No. 13 Michigan State, 79-70 in Ann Arbor. Nik Stauskas broke out of an extended slump by pouring in 25 points, 21 of them in a monster second half.
Caris LeVert added 23 points as the Wolverines shot 50 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from long range. They also forced 13 turnovers while committing only three. The win puts UM squarely in control of its own destiny, as it won't play another ranked opponent in the regular season.
Gary Harris scored 21 to lead the Spartans, but shot just 4-of-13 from beyond the arc. Adreian Payne, meanwhile, missed six of 10 foul shots in struggling to a 12-point finish. State is 22-6 on the season, but just 4-5 since losing Branden Dawson's to a fractured hand in January.
