Why would a 46-year old first time head coach get into a war of words with a marginal NFL player in the same division you face twice a year?

Why would a person who's coached in the NFL for 13 years even engage another player from a rival club?

Why would a head coach who's never won a single game waste his time in a publicity stunt against a relatively unknown player?

Welcome the 2009 version of how not to head coach in the NFL courtesy of Mike Tanenbaum and Woody Johnson!

As if watching Herm Edwards and Eric Mangini underperfom in the same capacity wasn't painful enough, you think the new head coach would have the sensibility to simply coach and build his own team and avoid such sophomoric activity?

Who is Channing Crowder?

Channing Crowder is an obscure, four-year veteran with the Miami Dolphins, who has 378 tackles in four seasons, with just 1.5 sacks and zero interceptions!

Why is Rex Ryan engaging this guy in any capacity through the media?

Would Bill Parcells ever engage in a war of words with Mike Nugent or Ben Graham? No.

Would any respectable and legitimate head coach waste his time with such nonsense?

Do your talking on the field, Coach Ryan!

Coming off a 9-7 collapse, and a huge question mark at quarterback as well as wide receiver, you think Coach Ryan has better things to do then to try get himself on the back pages of New York tabloids in June?

Given Buddy Ryan's immature antics as a coach in the NFL, is this just a sneak preview to the kind of idiocy we can expect from the head guy in charge?

A little maturity from these new head coaches!

It took new Denver Head Coach Josh McDaniels about two weeks to turn that franchise upside down which resulted in the Broncos losing quarterback Jay Cutler who threw for more yards in a single season last year than a guy named John Elway?

Since when does a back-up quarterback who played at John Carroll University of all places reach genius status? Does anyone believe the Broncos are better off with Kyle Orton versus Jay Cutler?

What is it with these new coaches?

Don't they realize they need to accomplish something before they'll receive the respect of the media, the players, and the fans who pay their salaries?

Jet fans were quickly deluded by the first year success of Eric Mangini and his 10-6 start.

But Mangini would go just 13-20 the rest of his three-year tenure while pushing Chad Pennington out of New York for the aging Brett Favre and the debacle that would eventually cost him his job.

Why was Mangini even a front-runner for the Jets job three years ago? Why was his failure in New York rewarded with another job in Cleveland? Can anyone seriously believe Eric Mangini is one of the 32 best coaches in football today?
