With just a matter of weeks to go until the annual Hall of Fame ceremony in the WWE, the rumors and speculation are gathering pace as to who will be the next person inducted in 2014.
The WWE has already announced that Lita, Jake Roberts and The Ultimate Warrior will be enshrined into the company's most exclusive club on the night before WrestleMania XXX.
Now, it appears the fourth member will be former nWo member Scott Hall, per Enzo Marino over at PWMania.com:
It seems that Hall will be inducted or be featured, in someway. He has been pulled from his scheduled appearance at the WrestleCon event in New Orleans, which takes place the same day as the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
With WWE set to announce a new WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Scott Hall seems to be the favorite, which have brought rumors of the nWo being inducted.
It would certainly make good sense to induct Hall since he had a big role in arguably the WWE's most important era, the Attitude Era.
He had a big impact on the Monday Night Wars back in the 1990s with his role as co-founder of the nWo with Kevin Nash. Even though that was in the WCW, Hall's impact on the WWE was still significant.
His first stint with the company under his Razor Ramon guise saw him achieve some success, most notably his rivalry with Shawn Michaels that culminated at WrestleMania X, when Ramon effectively became the undisputed Intercontinental champion.
He later lost that belt to Diesel, but went on to have some excellent rivalries in the IC division, to further immerse himself into WWE folklore. That includes a solid effort with Jeff Jarrett, where he lost the belt in controversial fashion at the 1995 Royal Rumble.
Talk of Hall being inducted has grown since he teased the induction on his official Twitter account. Hall suggested that he and the three confirmed Hall of Fame entrants were verified on the social networking site at the same time; however, those tweets, which appear on WrestleZone.com, have since been deleted from Hall's Twitter account, leading many to try and connect the dots.
It seems that Hall could well be heading for an inclusion into this exclusive club, of which very few can deny him a membership. Arguably one of the most recognizable superstars of the past 20 years, it feels like only external issues have denied Hall a place in the Hall of Fame. With such an important WrestleMania around the corner, now may well be the time to enshrine Hall to cement his legacy alongside his fellow nWo members.
Hall's role in the nWo during the Invasion storyline was also another important part of his pro wrestling career, with him, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan a prevalent part of the overhaul in wrestling during the early 2000s. There can be little doubt amongst wrestling circles that if he does get a Hall of Fame ring, it is very much deserved.
It seems like the Raw after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, which coincides with the launch of the WWE Network, will give us some clearer answers as to whether Hall is to be inducted in 2014. It will be a huge night, and one would anticipate the next inductee would be hot off the heels of that night.
