When a quarterback is getting ready for the NFL draft, being compared to Brett Favre is one thing that he should want to hear.

One scout compared former Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel to the legendary quarterback in January, according to Jason Cole of the National Football Post.

Apparently, Favre, via USA Today's Nate Davis, sees some similarities:

I haven't watched him much, but one game I watched, for like three quarters, was the Ole Miss game.

I almost thought I was watching film of a young Brett Favre.

I didn't think I did a lot of things well (in college at Southern Miss), but he did. And I liked the attitude of 'whatever it takes'—from that standpoint, I liked him.

That game against Ole Miss showcased everything that Manziel brings to the field. On Oct. 12, he completed 31 of 39 passes for 346 yards and added 124 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner is certainly more explosive as a runner, but he and Favre are both willing to do anything to make a play. If Manziel can show Favre's toughness at the next level, he could turn into a dominant quarterback.

When the NFL draft comes along in May, many expect Johnny Football to be one of the top picks off the board. For what it's worth, it sounds like he has Favre's approval.
