Team Sweden defeated Slovenia in men's hockey quarterfinal matchup, ending Slovenia's "Cinderellla" run, and advancing to the semifinal to await the winner of Russia and Finland.
Alex Steen gave the Swedes a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal off of a shot by Daniel Alfredsson that ricocheted off of the back boards and presented a tap-in goal.
Steen's goal would be all the offense that Sweden would need, despite scoring four times in the third period with two goals from Carl Hagelin as well as markers from Daniel Sedin and Loui Eriksson.
Sweden 5, Slovenia 0. Final.
