The Cleveland Cavaliers have now won five consecutive games.

No, that is not a joke.

Since owner Dan Gilbert relieved general manager Chris Grant of his duties on Feb. 6, the Cavaliers have rattled off five straight victories and have positioned themselves just 2.5 games out of the current playoff picture.

Perhaps most impressively, the Cavaliers performed as a cohesive unit and acted the part of a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference. Seven players scored in double figures, and three of Grant's previous five first-round selections posted double-doubles in a 114-85 beatdown over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The exchange between Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters following an impressive jam by Waiters late in the first half was a promising (and surprising) turn of events, leading to quite a buzz on social media:

Much like Tristan Thompson did last season, Tyler Zeller has improved drastically since the Cavaliers lost Anderson Varejao to an injury. He posted arguably his most impressive performance of the season on Tuesday night, as he tallied 18 points and 15 rebounds.

The double-double was the ninth of Zeller's career, but with 12 of his points and 10 of his rebounds coming in the first half, it marked just the first time the 7'1" former Tar Heel accomplished the feat in one half.

Here's what Twitter had to say about Zeller's impressive performance:

At just 2.5 games out of the playoff picture, the Cavaliers are now officially the hottest team in the NBA.

With the depleted Eastern Conference, Cleveland sits just five games out of the No. 5 seed. The Cavs host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night before taking on Toronto (twice) and Washington, and have a legitimate chance to push their streak to nine games.
