Most baseball brawls involve a lot of pushing and shoving, but occasionally there are some that turn into very dangerous incidents.

Things escalated quickly during a game in Cuba on Monday night.

After Villa Clara pitcher Freddy Alvarez allowed a home run to lead off the seventh inning, which gave Matanzas a 3-0 lead, things took a turn for the worse.

Alvarez drilled the next batter in the head with a fastball, and two batters later, the pitcher hit Victor Mesa Jr. The second plunking was enough for Matanzas, and the benches cleared.

This brawl got out of hand immediately. Alvarez charged at Matanzas' Demis Valdes—who had a bat in his hand—and chucked his glove at him. Valdes responded by taking a huge swing at the pitcher.

Oddly enough, Valdes wasn't even in the game. That didn't stop him from sticking up for his teammates.

When the game finally resumed, Alvarez was no longer on the mound for Villa Clara.
