The New York Post is reporting that the New York Knicks General Manager is eyeing Orlando's back up center Marcin Gortat and free agent after season's end.
Walsh would like to get a center with his $5 million mid-level exception during free agency. The Knicks had poor low post defense, with Eddie curry out with some financial and personal problems. Gortat is a good center who can score, rebound and block or detest shots. If signed Gortat would most likely be New York's starting center.
The Post reported Magic general manager Otis Smith can match any offer, but said he knows it will be a financial challenge to retain Gortat. Another Magic player that cold be on the move is Hedo Turkoglu. Hedo Turkoglu is expected to opt out of his contract and become a free agent after Orlando's run in the Finals.
