Host nation Russia suffocated Norway into submission in the qualification game and moved on by a 4-0 score.

Alexander Radulov had three points, including an empty-net goal. Ilya Kovalchuk and Alexei Tereshenko also scored for the Russians who never trailed, despite going into the first intermission tied at 0-0.

The Norwegians had a good game plan going and executed it well, but the Russians got a break on the first of Radulov's two goals as it hit a Norwegian defenseman's skate and bounced in for an own goal.

Russia faces Finland tomorrow in the quarterfinals, while Norway is eliminated from medal contention.
