Team USA continued its dominance of the X Games sports in the 2014 Winter Olympics with a big win by David Wise in the freestyle skiing halfpipe on Tuesday.
Wise led the pack with a 92.20 followed by Mike Riddle winning silver (90.60) and Kevin Rolland taking bronze (88.60).
The gold medal was secured in Wise's first run of the finals. He hit the deck on the first trick of his second run, and skidded to the finish with a score of just 3.40.
World No. 1 ranked Justin Dorey fell in both of his runs in the finals and finished 12th overall. Josiah Wells of New Zealand missed the podium in fourth place by three points, finishing with a second-run score of 85.60
Women's freestyle skiing halfpipe is scheduled for Feb. 20.
