The Onion Bag: Olivier Giroud's Apology and Roma's Empty Gesture

Ryan Bailey@ryanjaybaileyFeatured ColumnistFebruary 18, 2014

Welcome to the Onion Bag, your primary source of weird and wonderful football news.

First up, we have an altruistic update from Markus Rosenberg. After leaving West Brom at the end of the transfer window to head home to his native Malmo, the Swedish forward has decided to donate the entire contents of his English house to charity, rather than pack it up and take it with him.

Next, we head to Rome, where the Giallorossi celebrated a 3-0 win over Sampdoria with a lap of honour...in front of an empty stand.

And finally, we check in with Olivier Giroud, who hasn't just been playing away from home in the football sense.
