Coming into Monday's men's freestyle skiing aerials competition, it seemed that someone would need to do something special to deny the Chinese team the top spot on the podium.

And someone did.

Anton Kushnir captured the gold medal for Belarus on Monday, landing an insane three flips and five full rotations on his final jump, to blow away the field with a score of 134.50.

Australia's David Morris captured the silver, finishing more than 24 points behind the top spot.

China's Jia Zongyang, one of the favorites coming into the competition, had to settle for bronze after failing to match Kushnir on the final jump of the evening.

Mac Bohonnon—the lone American competing in men's aerials—was the last man out after the second round of finals.

He finished in fifth place.
