USA vs. Slovenia Olympic Hockey 2014: Live Score and Analysis

The USA defeated Slovenia by a 5-1 score Sunday morning to clinch the No. 1 spot in Group A and an automatic bye to the quarterfinals.

A Phil Kessel natural hat trick and a goals by Ryan McDonagh and David Backes proved to be more than enough, but Ryan Miller's shutout bid was spoiled with just 17.6 seconds to go in the third period.

The USA lacked effort throughout this game, but they used their skill to come through when necessary, overpowering the Slovenians in the end.
