Mitchell Johnson's First Ball to Hashim Amla in Centurion 2nd Innings Is Nasty

Hashim Amla came in to bat early against Mitchell Johnson on day four of the first Test between South Africa and Australia, with his team needing to survive for two days to avoid defeat.

And this was the welcome that he got from Johnson.

The left-armer has bowled some brutal deliveries in this series already but few could compare to the first Amla faced for sheer nastiness.

It took off and caught the batsman on the grill of his helmet.

Remarkably, Amla composed himself and managed to bat through to the lunch interval.

At that point he was 22 not out in the Proteas' total of 65 for three.
