I remember the times under Stuart Peace, when City fans were angry and frustrated that DS never got a fair crack at the whip. Looking back, it's now apparent why he didn't!

He just wasn't ready yet and he had youth on his side...a talent in the making, you might say.

This year. we have seen Danny starting to develop. and truth be told. for all the promise it appears that he wasn't about to let all that haste go to waste.

Mark Hughes should be credited for giving him his stage and his chance this last season. and he himself should be grateful for that opportunity.

However, the rumours are out that Chelsea is offering £75,000 a week to the boy, who in my opinion, is just not ready for that level just yet. I can appreciate that Danny wants to get the best deal he can, but does he really want to go to Chelsea and become a bench warmer and have to contend with a new manager every other week, where if he is lucky, he might get that break into the mainstream?

Daniel, if you're reading this, can I suggest you have a word with SWP about Chelsea and ask him how it wiped the smile off his face.  I think you need to buck up your ideas; remember who you are; remember, you're now at the richest club in the world, which in time will reward you handsomely for your loyalty.

A man without loyalty has no essence and shall only destroy himself. I hate to say it, but the model to protect young men like Daniel has to be based on the United one that Ferguson has been so successful with over the years, and I have no doubt Mark Hughes is the one to pull that off.

Daniel, you need to sign that contract and please don't destroy yourself. Patience is a virtue!
