The Chicago Bulls had a rough season that began with departure of Scott Skiles and ended on a downhill slide under interim coach Jim Boylan.
A new search has started and John Paxson has his mind set on two individuals that are both good candidates. The two coaches are Rick Carlisle, former Pacers head coach, and Tom Izzo the current Michigan State head coach.
Rick Carlisle was the coach of the Pacers for four years. Carlisle compiled a 61-21 record in his first season and took his team to the East Finals, but lost in six to the Pistons. After that season the downfall began and Carlisle posted a record of 120-126 in his final three seasons.
Tom Izzo of the Spartans has had an accomplished career as head coach of Michigan State. He has a career record of 278-121. His winning percentage of .727 is ranked fifth among active coaches with at least 10 tournament games coached. Players seem to have good chemistry with him and I'm sure the Bulls would love to play for him.
These two candidates are great for the job, but only one can be picked. Pretend you are Paxson and had to pick one, who would you choose?
