Keith Costas Provides Humorous Explanation for Bob's Red Eyes

Bob Costas' eye infection has been a hot topic during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, and his son, Keith, provided an odd explanation as to how the problem started.

It's painful to even look at:

The infection is so bad that it forced the sportscaster to take time off. For the first time since 1998, somebody other than Bob hosted an Olympics primetime show. The sportscaster battled through the condition for a while, but he stepped aside to let Matt Lauer take over temporarily.

The eye problem can apparently be attributed to a recent debate about Bob's height, according to the younger Costas, who provided the explanation on MLB Network's Hot Stove Live:
