Michigan 70, Ohio State 60 - Final Score
For the first time since 2003, the Michigan Wolverines stormed into Columbus and came away with a victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Big Ten Player of the Year candidate Nik Stauskas scored a team-high 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting to lead the Maize and Blue to the 70-60 win on the road.
Freshman point guard Derrick Walton Jr. scored all 13 of his points in the second half and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds en route to a double-double.
LaQuinton Ross and Lenzelle Smith Jr. kept the Buckeyes in it for as long as they could, but the lack of another scorer wound up being too much for them to overcome. The duo combined for 37 points, while no other Ohio State players were able to reach double figures.
Michigan's 14 offensive rebounds were also essential to its victory.
The victory give the Wolverines sole possession of first place in the Big Ten Conference standings at 10-2, while the Buckeyes fall to 6-6 in league play and are likely out of contention.
