Brock Lesnar vs. Batista at WrestleMania Would Disappoint Fans

When people try to predict and map out a potential card for WrestleMania XXX, the idea of Brock Lesnar taking on Batista isn't the worst idea in the world to some.

It would be a scenario that would please many people. Think about it: You get two part-time guys going at it with each other in a storyline that fits perfectly around both of their schedules. They won't be interfering with any of the full-time guys who work so tirelessly throughout the year.

Therefore, it is almost perfect in the minds of some that these two powerhouses go one-on-one and settle any potential differences.

However, Brock Lesnar and Batista going at it just wouldn't work. It would be a waste of time for fans, the WWE and WrestleMania in general. It may seem an extremely harsh thing to say, but Brock and Batista would be a huge letdown.

First and foremost, there is a huge issue surrounding Batista at this time. He returned to the WWE as a babyface and has continued to operate under that character. Despite that, it just hasn't worked out and as a result of his poor promos, coupled with him simply returning to win the Royal Rumble without any hard work, he is being booed at every appearance.

It makes little sense for the WWE to put a guy who is being consistently booed against Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is a heel—and a very, very good one at that. The ideal foe for Lesnar at WrestleMania is somebody who the crowd can get into. The most instantly obvious example of that would have to be The Undertaker. Not Brock Lesnar.

What they do with Batista is anyone's guess, although a match with Randy Orton seems inevitable. Brock Lesnar is not his ideal match, regardless of whether Orton is or not.

Lesnar has also been quite inconspicuous, as evidenced by his absence from WWE TV as of late. With Batista really struggling to work a program of any severe substance, the option to put him with an opponent who only sporadically appears on TV makes little or no sense at all.

Batista needs to be working with somebody who is on Raw and SmackDown every single week to try and pull something worthwhile out of him for the biggest show of the year. Having him thrown together with Lesnar and while both of them work part-time feuds is completely useless.

No matter what the WWE teased a few weeks back on Raw, Batista vs. Lesnar should not happen. Lesnar's mission to go after the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is one that now appears to have disintegrated.

That doesn't mean he should be fighting Batista at WrestleMania, though. It would be a feud that would severely let fans down.
